Edited by: Demon Goddess on 20/02/2008 15:09:10 I am the less than 1 day old character that STOLE all of the 9999999999 TRILLION isk from BOB for the 20th time, there security really sucks.... anyways il give you a stupid unrealistic amount back for every isk you send me, but i may keep it to :D
Ok i know scams are allowed but its creating huge amounts of Spam in Not only Jita but trade channels also.
There are at time 10 different people spamming the same thing every 10 seconds in Jita and at times trade channels.
There should be a rules against Flood spamming.

i dont mind this scam, its quite funny and you can block the chars, i mind more the Isk sellers with their mass spam messages (you know, the peeing in pants and the thing with the window symbols). You cant block them all.

I find it even more amusing when I hear someone go "ISK SENT!" then I link them to the latest thread in here about it, or when I caution people then they complain when they don't get any ISK back =P
Ah well, as someone pointed out scams like this wouldn't exist if people weren't stupid.

Had someone spamming this in NPC chat a few days ago.
I searched for his name on Eveo forums and, sure enough,he had used his scamming char to buy a GTC for his main.
I posted the link and he logged off.

I had a successful experience with this scam. I sent 1 ISK, and got 10 ISK back.

You're the best, and here's why. If somebody is 'testing the waters', for example, they might send you 10K ISK (or less), so it's little consequence to send them 100K ISK back. They'll think you're legit, and likely send you more.
Of course, if they send some amount like 1Mil ISK, send it back to them, and say, "Sorry man, I only do this in 10Mil increments."
Sure enough, this will be enough to gain their trust, and if they don't have the ISK readily available, they'll FIND it, and seek YOU out!

Oh, no, I wasn't scamming. I was, "testing the waters," with no actual intention of giving in to the scam. I just wanted to see if they'd actually do it.

I was doing this in local today. Just to see how people reacted. I asked for 10,000 isk for me to give 500,000 isk back. ONLY 10,000 isk. Not more, not less.
After much name calling and alot of healthy paranoia (That's Good!), a few people handed over 10,000 isk and were totally blown away when I actually held up my end of the deal.
There were a couple of people who refused to believe I was actually giving any money away and one guy claimed that all 6 (Six!) of the people I gave money to were my alts. He then blocked me. heh.
You might think I'm a moron, but I gave away about 16 mill isk this afternoon, which is still much less than I'd spend in an afternoon of PVPing. I still had fun - and I learned!

I have this new atomic particle splitter and item duplicator I picked up at the tool shop the other day. It has 6 uses left!
If you give me one of your capital ships, say a Nyx or an Avatar, I will duplicate them for you and give you both of them back!
All I need to do this is just your one time payment of 100 mil to operate the particle splitter, as it takes a lot of fuel to use.
As a final note, I can only do this one time per person. And with only 6 uses, now is the time to DOUBLE your capital ships!

You could get money out of this, even if the scammer stops returning you the money.
Start with testing the scam for a low amount, say 1 mil Isk. Do this when the scam is starting, he'll want a few people to confirm he's returning 10x.
When you get your 10 mil, donate 5 mil back to him. If he doesn't pay you back, you still got 4 mil out of it. If he doesn pay you back 50 mil, you do another one for 20 mil... and so on.
At a certain moment he will stop but you always come out with more money on top except if he doesn't return your very first payment. In that case you lost 1 mil... no biggie

Edited by: kublai on 24/02/2008 14:08:30 10x isk scam is utter rubbish.
Since this morning i've scammed 1.2 billion (ok 1.2billion +30m i took off some newbie because I was bored and..well i'm an *******) with good old fashioned social engineering.
I didn't spam a single public channel, nobody but the victims who were not exactly very bright suffered discomfort.
Could someone please put a bullet to the head of these idiotic 10x scams ><
I mean seriously, i'm so sick of seeing nickel and dime thieves running around tooting how they earned 100m in a day spamming the crap out of every channel they found.
Disclaimer: 1.2 billion doesnt make me a scamming god, its just a mornings work, a real pirates mornings work. ------ Art of War is recruiting - Think you got what it takes? Buying sig - eve-mail "Jonny 101" |
