Edited by: Nikeffo on 20/02/2008 16:28:45 Ok, CCP, devs, answer this:
Where is the logic, when you can't take whats inside the can/wreck,m but you can take whats on the outside? Its like this: The police will not take action if you steal the tires of a car, but if you take the stereo its a crime.
Logic? Please make stealing salvage a crime, the same way as it is stealing a can. Its logic and its stops alot of grief. Salvagethieves are lowlives that should get whats coming to them.
Edit: And if you want to stop helping ISK-sellers, you could start by stopping these ****ers, as they are mostly of that breed!

Logic? haha. I like when people bring out logic and real life references into a game. Salvaging is a profession, deal with it.
Quote from a GM
Quote:
This is an intended game mechanic and is in no way an exploit. People salvaging your missions npcs or the player you just blew up are doing nothing wrong. The players are salvaging what is effectively floating rubbish in space and Concord places no value on this wreckage.
Eve is a harsh place you won't always have everything go your way, its a do or die world and people do what they can to get along. If salvaging some wreckage gets them a few more ISK someone will do it, it doesn't matter who just blew it up.

Edited by: Anaalys Fluuterby on 20/02/2008 17:27:54 Its salvage, not your possession. CCP has already responded on this twice, both times saying it is unlikely to change:

From CCP Prism X:
Quote:
If we end up having to chose between the salvagers right to salvage whatever he finds and the mission runners right to salvage his own loot without competition and getting rights to pwn empire salvagers, we'd probably go for the former.
Salvage is not intended to be a mission runner's entitlement program. It is free for grabs by anyone with the skills and equipment. CCP GAVE you the equipment to do salvaging on the fly without hurting your mission running speed in the form of the new BSs which can mount 4 tractors/salvagers without sacrificing firepower.

Edited by: Katana Seiko on 21/02/2008 00:51:01 Well, with your logic, let's get that into the real context: In the war in Iraq, US tanks destroyed lots of Iraq's tanks. Is it a crime to take a piece of that destroyed tank (let's say the exhaust pipe) to do something useful from it (i.e. putting it on a truck) instead of letting it rot?
Initially the jet cans were trashbins, and everyone was free to take everything from any can he saw. And seeing that CCP introduced a 30day timer for all secure containers I'd like to ask CCP to take that change back - and give us some larger secure containers. --- This is your Captain speaking. Thank you for flying with our spaceline. Please remain seated until the ship has completely burned out. Thank you. |

Eve != real life.
As always if this is a major problem:
1. Mission run in low sec and shoot the **** out of them.# 2. Salvage as you go along. 3. War dec them. ---------------------------------

I would keep your mouth shut! until you personally know every ninja salvager you just insulted with that comment...
*Myshella writes Nikeffo on the list of players she will ignore if they ask kindly for her to leave their mission area.

Lets make the RL comparison a bit more correct. If you trash your car, the stereo, GPS and hub caps are all yours (assuming they survived). But if some guy can extract some burnt wires from the trashed engine along with half a spark plug, it's his. If you want those wires and the half spark plug, then you better bring the tools to extract them. That is the rule in EvE.

really? there's a scan-probing macro that sends in a gang of destroyers to your scan signature, targets and salvages all the wrecks, unloads in station, and repeats 23/7?
or do you mean that there's a macro that goes from system to system, salvageing all the wrecks in the noob areas, belts, gates, and stations?
