My alt manufactures I buy BPCs to do the manufacturing. Sometimes I find a good offer for BPCs and afk there to buy them and AFK back while eating, doing the dishes, etc.
Worked excellent so far but got suicided twice today. I lost maybe 10-20 mill total, isk wise it isn't a loss that bothers me. But buying new BPC's is really frustrating.
First loss I had 5 dominix blueprints with 1 run each in cargo hold. Seriously who hauls 5 dominix BPOs in a shuttle afk like that? I mean ok if it was one dominix blueprint or some different ones. But when its 5 what are the odds for them being BPOs? So Second time I put a BM in cargo hold "Im just hauling BPC's, wouldn't do it afk otherwise"
Obviously that didn't help. I snapped in local, the guy actually gave me my BPCs back.
I see one option: not doing it on prime time like I did now. But meh, I wanna do it when it suits me.
Any suicider out there that wanna give me some tips on how to not get blown up while hauling stuff that isn't valuable . I really wanna do this afk. I realize not doing it afk is the best solution but wtf. Its a shuttle hauling like 10mill worth of stuff. I also hate to see suiciders wasting their ships and time on me when I got nothing in my cargo hold that can drop to be happy about.

Dont use a shuttle maybe? A well tanked frig or cruiser would be a better choice.

ZOMG yes. If you dont use a shuttle and use something else then you might have a chance. Everyone uses shuttles to haul important stuff because they are fast and hard to catch so use something else. Highly doubt that someone will scan you out if ur in a cruiser.

Get an interceptor and nano the crap out of it, should get you to warp and get to stargates very fast. Sure, it wont have much of a tank, but it will give them much less time to lock and scan you.

1. Don't AFK. You'll just be offering the majority of the C & P inmates a free can of goodies. 2. Shuttles are only good if you're actually moving and at the helm. Noobships have better tanks than shuttles. 3. Don't AFK haul. 4. Tank the living **** out of whatever you're hauling with. 5. Remain at the controls while hauling valuables. 6. Avoid routes where the ganker-types hang out. 7. Don't AFK where the gankers hang out with a no-tank tincan and a hold full of goodies.
Simple enough? Oh, I for got to mention....Don't AFK, eh? _______________________________

Get a cruiser with alot of low slots and a few meds.
Fill up the lows with speed enhancing mods.
Fill up the mids with Med/Large shield extenders.
I know i fly a destroyer to haul important stuff. 482 M/S and 4.6k shields. :D

1.) Don't afk with anything of any value. 2.) For blueprints, use either a covops/force recon (can warp cloaked, and blueprints don't take much cargo space at all) or a heavily tanked ship like a Drake or most BS's. 3.) DON'T AFK WITH VALUABLE STUFF IN CARGO. -- Aeran Hermas

This made me laugh IRL, unfortunately this makes gankers think that they're BPOs and your faking them out
Quote: Obviously that didn't help. I snapped in local, the guy actually gave me my BPCs back.
That is one weak-minded pirate
Some of this stuff has already been said, but....
1. A cruiser or frigate at least. Cov Ops for expensive BPOs (flying manually ofc), otherwise a nice cheap cruiser will do
2. As the other guy said, shield extenders for mids and overdrives/nanos for lows
3. (Most amusingly) Stuff the BPC in the hold, then fill with as much trit as possible. keep splitting the trit into 1 piece stacks, until you have as many as you can stand. When the ship is scanned, the ganker will get his face pwned by the massive lag due to scanning 364,289 stacks of trit. Also mix some random small-volume junk in there, so that the ganker has to spend time looking through your hold. This is just hearsay, can any experienced gankers confirm/deny this? --------------------------------------

The problem here is that a shuttle can be one-volleyed, making it a prime target for cheap suicide Thrashers (destroyer class)
Just get something a little tougher, and you'll be fine. --

If you dont want to be suicided, use a ship which wont die quickly and still go afk. A drake is a well suited ship for this reason make it a good passive tank and go happily afk.

This. Or the huge passive tank cruiser/BC if the cargo is small.
My AFK badger 2 setup takes a full T2 gank Brutix about 30 seconds to kill, plenty of time for Concord to show.
If you're not at war, anything will work flying manually.

My hauler alt has flown some VERY expensive stuff, rattlesnake bpc's, t2 bpo's etc.
Never get suicided, my secret?
I fly t2 haulers or my alts mining navy apoc (faction fitted and tanked for great justice), a freighter, and i never EVER fly afk with valuable things in my hold, not even the freighter. ------ Art of War is recruiting - Think you got what it takes? Buying sig - eve-mail "Jonny 101" |

This works very well. I was bringing a Drake BPO (ME35 PE2) home after doing some research in a 0.5 system. I was one jump into my trip when I was suicided after coming through a gate. There were about five BSs, I think. Mostly Domis. There might have been other ship types too, I don't remember. But anyway, they got me down to 40% shields before the last one popped to concord!

And when you need to haul modules or w/e which take up loads of space, grab an Occator. Both bonusses for shield and armor, 5k m3 space to start with.

If you give me one of your capital ships, say a Nyx or an Avatar, I will duplicate them for you and give you both of them back!
All I need to do this is just your one time payment of 100 mil to operate the particle splitter, as it takes a lot of fuel to use.
As a final note, I can only do this one time per person. And with only 6 uses, now is the time to DOUBLE your capital ships!

The problem here is what many of the repliers seem to not realize.
* I got nothing of value in the cargo hold. No goodies, no isk, no reason to suicide except the hope of me having BPOs.
* Its a minor loss both for me and the suicider. (not taking wasted time into account)
* If I was hauling something of value I would never get suicided because I know how to BEST avoid it as I all ready said.
However the BEST way here would be for me being able to afk my ship as I usually do but with some precaution making me a less interesting target.
Best thing for me personally would be if the suicider could be sure of that it was BPCs. I know this isn't possible and probably will never be introduced to eve for a number of good reasons.
My alt got crappy space ship command skills, It can't even fly a tier 3 frig. However a speed fitted cruiser with extenders in the mids seem as the best option so far.
Thanks for the serious replies though, appreciate it.
Just got an idea when reading a reply about contracts. If I make a contract for myself (or with an alt). And accept it. Will I get the items in one of those boxes? And will the contents of that box be scannable? Or will the one scanning only see the box?
If that works would it make me a more or less juicy target?

if you dont care much about speed and just plan to do it afk untill its done u could make a punisher with 11000+ effective hp sure someone might take a pop shot at it but ho wont kill it in a bomber which is tbh what most ppl use now i got no clue how much punishment it can take vs someone who is throwing more isk at suiciding but im pretty sure they would not bother with you honestly dont understand why anyone bother's doing it on cargo worth less then 1bill but meh guess stupid ppl do it to
anyways thats the only t1 frig option i could think off that would do it afk'ish and survive stupid ppl ...

Hmm ide have to go along with a Interceptor like a stiletto
use shield extenders on the mids and all overdrives on the lows it will (i think) go faster then a shuttle lower sig radius and you will have a large shield buffer if you do get shot at
but since i have no experience in high security ganks i couldn't tell you if it would definitely work trial and error situation i guess

So one question... my main flys a marauder with some faction items (x-type lar...) so its really in the 1 bil range if the gankers get really lucky and everything drops. Now the question... how safe am I doing missions in high sec. Can my ship tank the ammount of punnishment before concord blows up the aggressors? Does it even pay out for the gankers to try it?
Would really like to see some ganker input if they would consider me a target if they would see me fly by...
