This thread is either a whine about the forums or a question asking what I am doing wrong.
Is it too much to ask that:
1) I stay logged in long enough to finish a post I am writing?
2) That I stay logged in when navigating from one page to another?
I've been having problems like this with the forums for four years now, in both FireFox and IExplorer. I don't ever have problems with any other forums I contribute to.

At least you can log in in the first place. I can't half of the time...

One of my favs is going to reply to a thread, then logging in, then bieng taken BACK to the main listing of fourms (need to find thread again) ...Is that in "intended feature" as well?

I used to have no problems, then one day Firefox stopped letting me stay logged in. But IE works fine.

This particular problem you're describing is recent to me(like a month or less).
After logging in, I also get a message that I'm about to leave the secure connection.
Might have to do something with recent IE security updates on that though.

Yes, this is one of the biggest annoyances.
CCP can do such a complex game with amazing hardware and database, but they can't do forums. Should I just be grateful for what they can do, and have done, or wonder why the forums have suffered such neglect at the hands of otherwise competent people?

I had to click "Reply to Topic" four times just to get this text box open. I think that fact is even better than the comment I had originally planned. May whoever programmed these forums be forever remembered by history for being legendarily stupid.

Happens to me on Firefox more often than not to so not just a IE issue.

lol when I see that I'm not logged in, but I wanna reply to something, I open the forums in a new firefox tab and log in on that one, then refresh page on the thread I'm in so that it now recognizes me as being logged in to reply ^^

It's getting better though.
It used to be that you had to sign in *twice* for each post that you wanted to make if you were using Firefox.

I mean really, these are the Eve forums, of course you are asking too much. Just like it is too much to ask for our UI to stay in the same place, or for ffleet battles to be playable, or hell even for GMs to enforce consistent rules on all players.

if u think u want to reply to a topic, logging while reading the topic - just clicking the top log in link - usually fixes any crap like all taht!
