Hey all
I'm kind of confused about NOS. How it works, why it is good/bad, what exactly got nerfed about it etc...
Would someone be willing to shed some light on this for me?

Nos takes capacitor from the target ship and transfers to your own so long as you have less than the target ship. So it damages their capacitor and helps your own. Before the nerf, it worked regardless of the capacitor levels of either ship, making it pretty much a standard module on any battleship that would likely shut down the tank of anything without nos or of a smaller ship class. The Amarr recons were amazing back then, because they could just latch onto a soft target and bleed it dry while having essentially infinite capacitor themselves. Shutting down ships in this way can be accomplished today with a nos/neut combination, but it no longer buffers your own capacitor, making capacitor warfare a game of trying to run on as little cap as possible to conserve cap boosters and keep the nos running.

NOS still works perfectly, in that it gives you energy when you actually need it, and can be triggered by fake warps and using reppers when not needed.
NOS used to always steal energy, but now you only steal it if your cap % is lower than their cap %.
It was nerfed because i believe everyone fitted it and it gave unfair advantages to those races than don't need guns in their highslots to deal damage, not to mention it rendered anything smaller than a cruiser in severe danger vs a BS. -------------------------------------------- [IMAGE REMOVED]

So basicly, anything cruisersize or smaller can be handicapped severely by fitting for example 2X small energy neutralizer II's?

Depends on what ship you are flying. If you have two small neuts equiped on a cruiser you are prolly failing. If you have them on a frigate, your cap will be similarly eaten by their use. If you have two free high slots the norm seems to be 1 neut and 1 nos.
