Is slavery evil?
Is it evil when a loving parent chastises their offspring for anti-social behaviour, controls their diet or makes them go to school?

A loving parent no? A complete stranger from a culture with different values dropping in out of the blue...with no warning....who uses physical and chemical coercion in an attempt to completely eradicate an entire cultureàwho constantly tells the "child" of it's worthlessness...
As the old saying goes, you can't choose your parents.
But seriously, you're working on the assumption that all slave holders abuse their charges. This is not the case, and just as there are good and bad parents, there are good and bad holders.

Originally by: GulletSplitter I am to a degree working under the "all bad" assumption Rodj. Some of that is definitely from my past. I do know of "good" Amarr owners in the sense that they really do care about their slaves. It seems a large portion of the Amarr tar the Minmatar as unworthy/inferior/barbaric because Minmatar are not Amarr. It is just as hard not to tar all Amarr as "evil" when it is a race/culture that has given us the joys of slaver hounds and vitoc.
As for parentage....the Amarr weren't the parents of the Minmatar. So it's not an apt comparison. If we were then the Amarr have been spawning a, in their terms, "inferior" race. You might try a "benevolent teacher" propaganda line instead. ;)
We're your adopted parents then, or maybe an older sibling left to look after you or a kindly uncle.
The analogy is the same
Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori.

One can leave an abusive parent as soon as one learns to walk, slaves don't have that luxury. I've always found the "loving parent" analogy to be absurd: a sane parent doesn't imprison their children to prevent them from leaving the house when they come of age, a sane parent doesn't poison their children when they're disobedient, and a sane parent doesn't kidnap the neighbors' children because they believe they're in need of "proper guidence". Maybe that's what your parents were like Rodj, but to most of the galaxy such behavior is unacceptable to say the least.
The answer to this is simple - you're not yet ready to leave the nest.
When the Ni-Kunni had grown up, they were allowed to assume their rightful position in God's creation. Likewise the Udorians.
But the Minmatar insisted on running away from home. One day, they shall return.

Do you even know what an analogy is?
