Convo me in-game, or mail [email protected] with your requirements. 50m is a good price, but it obviously depends on the depth and extent of the site, especially with Flash.

Hi Amrone, long time no see, how you doing?
Jericho has a heap of great designers amongst it's ranks, so it may be worth heading on down to The Jericho Artist Portal and have a look thru that. Alex is probably your best bet on the web design tho. ----------- "Remember people: Omber is the biggest evil ever created, DO NOT let it get to you!" Waagaa Ktlehr, BDCI

Here is a Link to a flash site I started some months ago that I may be willing to finish for someone such as yourself. In all honesty, 50 mil ISK is not much at all vs. the time and effort a site like this takes.
Please note this site is no where near finished (maybe 20% complete), and the time invested is allready worth more than 50 mil.
Anyway, mabe it will give you some ideas....
enjoy

Slick Design
I don't use flash, but could have something similar to that cut and thrown in HTML in a matter of days.
Get back to me.
Edit: Forgot to mention, that I also do simplistic and minimalistic designs really well, however I've none up at the moment due to extreme bandwidth constraints. I can pretty much mimic any major trend in existence and am fully capable of designing something completely original as you see with the above site.
I am proficient in Illustrator and Go Live as well, so I can produce Vector Based work if you need it.

my going rate is $65 per hour, and it really depends on how well formed the content and idea is when I recieve it as to how long it will take me to do it. Chhabra group took me about 10 days working 8 hour days (which I was payed alot less than $65 per hour for since that was the company I worked for heh and the content was far from organized and ready to go.)
I have looked on Ebay at the going rate of Isk, which seems to be roughly $200 per 100 mil, which by my standard going rate of $65 per hour would turn out to be a hell of alot of Isk. We are talking in the billions range. But, seeing as the fact that I could finish a site like that in about 2 weeks (providing the content is well formed and organized), and I probably could not make anywhere near 200 mil in 2 weeks in my current Noob position, it would most likely be almost worth 200 mil. maybe 300... But that all depends on the time I quote based on the work needed.

Edited by: Sintwar on 06/04/2004 19:48:23 Well, as I said, my going rate is $65 per hour. with an estimated 80 hours of work into a site like that, @ that rate would be $5,200 (bare in mind, some people charge $20,000 + for a site like that)
$5,200 / $200 (cost of 100m on ebay) = 26 (thats 26 orders of 100m from ebay).
100,000,000 * 26 = 2,600,000,000 (two billion six hundred million) edit(mis typed the amount. )
So.. charging 200m to 300m is one hell of a deal if you ask me... At my rate, that would be $400 or $600 for one hell of a bad ass site. :)
And hardly putting my grand children through college. ;)

Edited by: Uhclem on 06/04/2004 20:47:35 IÆm not saying that those sites arenÆt very well done, because they are, but I donÆt think that anyone on these boards can offer to pay the going rate for a web designer.
Probably canÆt even afford half.
They do look nice, don't get me wrong, I can only say the layout is a bit bland - but the transitions and the slick design kick my ass with their sheer professional look.
What IÆve seen, at least in my town, you might get 5200 for a site like that if you also included original code for a BBS, an E-Mail system, a Shopping Cart, and a comment board.
Also, forgive me for being blunt, but why the ****, would I pay ANYONE 65 dollars an hour for ANYTYPE of work.
I assume youÆve been hired before, since you do have a ôgoing rate,ö but Christ man, give these people a brake.

Yeah, it's not too bad. I'd want a few hundred mil myself for putting in 60-80 hours of my free time . However, it's more than I can afford on a website right now. I might get back to you in 6 months if I haven't managed to do something on my own in that time. |

Yeah probably would be except for one thing.. this is a game and it would be a website for a game corp, not for a real Corporate Business.
We've got a little neocom compatible site that cost nothing and does the job fine... it would be *nice* to have a flashy non-neocom site but that's it *nie*. *nice* doesnt = 300mil isk sorry.. and i wuldnt want somebody to waste 2 weeks of their life on something like that anyway.
(no offense intended - v nice sites but not for a game corp that doesnt exist)

actually, at 300mil, that turns out to be about $7.50 per hour. 200mil is only $5.00 per hour! I'm sure you think I am worth more than that don't you? After all, I do make $25 per hour at my job doing this kind of stuff every day. $65 per hour is my (Im off of work and this is my free time) rate.

Don't forget that roughly 90% of the design usually ends up being the result of the taste of the client. I have ended up desining things that look flat out ameteur as the result of the client just plain "wanting it like that"...

I don't know where you are coming from, but where I come from, I could get $50,000 + for an entire site with "original code" for all of that. for $5,200 I (and any developer I know) would slap together pre-developed systems for the site, such as Miva for the shopping cart.

$65 per hour is actually quite common for freelance work. At least the medium to good stuff. Your average joe who uses front page and maybe a little photoshop can usually get away with about $25 per hour for freelance, and the site ends up being a rainbow colored bar going down the left with some text links on the top and plain text in the middle.

I have been working in the web development and design field for 7 years now, not including the 2 I spent in school, and 2 before that I spent learning for fun.
I am proficient in asp.net, C#, html/javascript, Flash, Actionscript, Photoshop, Illustrator, yadda yadda the list goes on. I usually make about $6,000 a year extra just doign little side jobs such as logos or presentations, and am currently building my own corporation for web development and advertisement.
believe me, I have been there, done that, and I know exactly what I am talking about.
And offering someone a flash website for a measily little 2 or 3 hundred mil isk is almost completely cheritable on my behalf.
by mentioning the fact that I usually make $65 per hour, is just my way of saying "You are getting a VERY good deal"...
Edit: I also wonder how long it took him to obtain 200mil? It seems as though some people seem to be able to make about 50 mil a day in this game. But hey, he said he would pay up to 200 mil, so who am I to argue. If he likes my stuff, he can contact me, and I will talk to him and work that out and show him more stuff.
By the way, my email is [email protected] if you would like to talk business. :)

well, i figured i'd put up my website link just to have it out there. i'm sure this can't compete with the graphic-intensive sites, but it was built with the low-bandwidth user in mind.

design is easy, it's content that's the *****...
not that I'm offering, I don't know if I have the time for something like that.
though if you want to see what I've worked on I could post *shrugs*, some of it is, admittedly, fugly. mostly due to client "demands".
