Ok, so I finish the tutorial stuff, and go to get my first real mission. Mining mission, Im supposed to go mine some mex-something or other, and bring back so many units of it. But there is one question.... how in the world do I FIND this stuff? All the asteroid belts I've seen have Veldspar and Scordite... that's it. Surely there is SOME way to find this stuff... Most likely, Im just missing something here. If anyone could kindly explain this process to me, I'd be really grateful

u get mexallon from mining asteroids of plagioclase or pyroxeres. that will give u ore(plagioclase or pyroxeres) that u need to refine in order to get the mexallon __________________________________________________________

Is there a site, a resource that lists all the ore and how to mine it?

You can also provide your agent with items by just buying them. If the cost of buying the stuff is more than you're willing to pay, go ahead and mine and then reprocess the ore for the minerals you need.
It's also possible to refine stuff like pirate loot to get minerals. Pick the item from the displayed list of items in that station's hangar when you bring up reprocessing and see what the amounts are. Some items are worth more refined, depending on what is selling in your area. High refining skills and good refining facilities and standing will give you the best return. (The reprocessing screen will give you info on how well you'll refine at that particular station.)
Keep in mind there are some missions ("Courier") where the item is someplace else (check "Assets" - the safe icon on the left hand bar - to see where the agent is sending you for pickup if you don't want to type in the name of the station to set your destination) and you need to bring that particular pile of stuff to its required end point.
Good luck on your mission!

best way to find the roid you are looking for is jump into a system then instead of going to each roid field, use your range scanner and scan to 100000000 or wht ever the highest is (I forget but it starts with a 2 lol) then you will see most of the roids in the area, and you will get a feel for what roids are in that system.
