Hello!
Who can access a POS, if granted access? Corpmates? Alliance members? Non-corp members with the shield password?
I haven't seen the answer definitively spelt out anywhere.. If someone has a link or the answer, I'd be most appreciative!

Non-alliance members: can do nothing with the POS. at best you can ensure that the POS wont shoot them
Alliance members: can enter inside the shield, can use the maintenance array (can't access stuff inside, but I believe it is possible to have them use it to refit from their own cargohold).
Corp members: provided they have the right roles can do everything... i.e. offline, unanchor, refit, etc

Corp members: Can be given access to any part of the pos depending on roles and structure access. You can limit specific modules to Starbase Manager / Fuel Technician roles or all corp / alliance members.
Alliance members: Can enter the forcefield without password if the option is ticked. Can use a Ship Maintainence Array if configured for Alliance access. Cannot use labs + corp hangars + production modules. Can drop fuel into a Jump Bridge Array if its configured for Alliance. Non-corp members also require the forcefield password to jump via bridges, even if they don't enter the forcefield itself.
Anyone else: Can enter the forcefield if they know the password. This is not based on standings, so obviously its bad for hostile corps to get this password. Can use jumpbridge array modules if they have the forcefield password and the POS is configured not to shoot them. They cannot drop fuel inside however.

What happens when you don't check the corp access box?

I have a related question--u see Contracts where the item is in 0.0 space... Is that going to be an outpost, pos or station (I have never been to 0.0 but did not think they even have stations there). How can u tell from the Contract location info as to which one of the 3 it would be? If it's one of the first two, is an outpost like an empire station with the same kind of access?

If I give an alt who is in a npc corp the shield pw to the pos, they can get in. Am I able to configure the corp hangar so that anyone can open it, including this alt? I havent found any option for it yet tho.

Nope your alt can get inside the shield but will be unable to do anything with any structure (cept use Jump bridges which are outside the shield anyway ). -- eve-guides.com All about POSs, Outposts, Exploration, Mining, Invention, EVE Database + much more!! |
