Like the Subject ask do the realy work? I have use them i see the # change in the set up. But when i am a fight i do not realy see much help? The # seem to show that you should get some benrfit.
Would just like to see what the more experienced players have to say.
Thanks: PS i know there will be some debate but that is part of this fourm.

There will be no debate: Turn it on and it works fine. It's an active module.

Without a DCU your hull will pop like a can, no "debate" about it really. ______________________________________

They give you extra shield and armor resists but the best part is the insurance you get when you hit hull. It's probably the difference between escape and failure in a lot of cases.

It's worth noting there's no stacking penalty on them, you get full benefit to shield and armor resists no matter how many hardeners you have.

Damage Controls are really very useful modules for their bonus to structure alone. On more than a couple of occasions I've survived fights with less than 50% structure remaining -- without the DC I would've been dead. Of course, you have to ask yourself if the extra HP buffer is more important than another damage mod/speed mod/repper. A lot of times it is.
On top of that, as others have said, their shield and armor resist bonuses don't stack on top of regular hardeners, so they contribute quite a bit that way too.

damage controls essentially increase the buffer you have to tank with tremendously except on passive shield tanks. I can't think of any case with an armor tank where you wouldnt want a DCU, except maybe missions. In pvp though, its almost as essential as a web and mwd.
