Ship Logs, we all know what they are. They are a not too common drop that people collect from rat loot. They use to direct you to direct you to complexes but then the complexes became static and visible on the overview.
Exploration, a decent new profession and one that can be lucrative, but all chance based.
Here's I had an idea that could add some more enjoyment into exploration, plex running and and reduce the pure randomness of the hunt for these plexes.
What if, when you obtain a Ship Log, The ship log can be (right click menu) used and is then added to your Journal as a storyline mission, with no agent, just the mission to clear out a specific complex. There ofcourse been a random bookmark for a complex. Give the Complex a X/10 rating loosely based on where the log was obtained and from what vessel.
Because it is a storyline mission it has a 7 day life before it expires.
If you do clear the complex and fulfill the mission requirements, you gain a faction standing with the opposing faction. As a bonus.
So guys what do you think? I can only see this as been a good thing and would love doing it.

It certainly would make use of a wasted game item that was overlooked through the steady changes made to eve.

Seems that because I suggested something so plain cut and simple, a natural thing I guess. It disappeared with few responses. As I received no negative feedback, I guess it can be a good thing.
Still, How many people have these ship logs in their storage, doing nothing as they are now useless? Isn't it about time they were put to good use.
