Ok so I finally got to return to eve, currently I was training up to be able to fly a battleship (I am gallente and I fly gallente)so that I would be able to solo Level 4 missions.
I am currently at 2.2mil sp, building up my abilities to be able to armor tank and such with tech 2 repairers and armor resistance boosters etc both passive and active.
My question however is, can you make as much cash doing Q4 missions as you can with industrialism/manufacturing....Should I finish up my basic Battleship skill abilities and then work on industrial/manufacturing. Which way makes cash better.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I'm not too old myself in eve, and I would say that in the short run you will make more from running lvl 4 missions then industry. Since industry is focus on an open market, with lots of old and highly skilled industrialists to compete against, you will have a higher competetion then running missions (in high sec).
In the end it's up to your own playstyle, so have fun.

You can almost make as much money running lvl 3 missions as you can running lvl 4 if you don't have high enough skills to do the lvl 4s easily.
Level 3 missions are faster to complete which helps. Running the cosmos missions for Gallente might be worth considering if you want a bit of variety.

You want cash fast? Just buy low, sell high. There are threads involving market activities that will give you some guidance.
One thing I latched onto was selling T2 modules bought at Jita and selling them at my local market hub. Then I realized a lot of money could be made buying/selling Caldari Navy Missiles.
Made 2B in about 4 months, now I just do other things since I got stash.
You may have to do a lot of hauling, and being at the market hub station to keep modifying your prices to be the lowest in the station. Try Eve-Central.com to get relatively up to date prices region to region.
I still do missions, and have an industrial/production alt. I needed 720mm Scout Arty for my Hurricane, and bought 20 extra for 3.2M in Jita and sold them for just under 7M ea. Profit of about 60M. Mining and producing and selling and mission running would take a lot more time and effort to make that much that fast.
The best part is that you don't have to keep at it forever, just long enough 'til you've reached your goal.

You can make much more isk with industry/trading than mission running, but it really goes to what you enjoy doing more. Missions are sort of the autopilot way to make isk in that they don't require a lot of legwork, thought or research. However as someone already said, you can make a ton of isk building or buying items that will sell well and selling them somewhere where there is demand but little supply. I used to make a killing building basic mods in lowsec and selling them there (sometimes for as much as 10 times what they sell for in empire space). Bringing skillbooks to lowsec can also be very profitable and can be done in a small fast ship. You can even arbitrage blueprints (and other items) buying cheap in one region and selling at a large profit in another.
There are many ways to make isk, it really just comes down to what you want to do. After all, it is a game, try to have fun with it.

300M a day..damn that's sweet. I'd like to be able to do that, then I could buy a GTC and play full time. How did you manage to do that?
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, most traders won't give you specific details - they don't want the competition.
A few guidelines though - look at the market and make a note of high volume items. High volume means there's a high turnover so anything reasonably priced will sell quickly. Ammunition is a good example.
Look at the map and see if there's a local demand for items. Systems that are a gateway to 0.0/low sec and mission runner hubs are good places to start.
Be careful when moving large numbers of valuables around - if someone feels that the value of their ship is less than the value of your cargo, they may try to suicide your ship and have a friend scoop up all the remains.
This is even more applicable in low sec, except they'll destroy your ship for fun, rather than for profit.

aye with one exception they usually use alt to pick up loot and to not share with others
Thats why best idea is to fly in heavily hp buffer tanked ships, best would be transport ships with some passive resistance amplifiers and shield extenders/plates depending if its shield tanking or armor tanking ship.
You dont need any sort of active tank, it requires activation and B it gives much less in this short dmg burst enemy is doing before concordoken, you must survive only that long.
Example: Its possible to get 11-17k shields on mastodon with high resistances and no big resistances holes without sacrificing much cargo hold, similar to caldari transport, galente and amarr must sacrifice cargo hold as they are low slot armor tankers.
Peace
