Very enjoyable. Nice mix of people, lucid arguments and opinion. Not sure I can handle two 90-minute podcasts a week though

Edited by: Crovan on 28/02/2008 23:45:06 Thanks to everyone who has listened so far! Extra thanks to those who have bumped this thread, or given us comments/feedback. There are still a few days to respond to our listener feedback section, so please get in touch with us.
Also, OP edited with our new iTunes link. Thanks to those who used the RSS feed already. Now it should be a lot more convenient to get TDB each week.
Edit: Also, I'll be adding us to Digg, podcast pickle, and maybe a couple of other sites. Be sure to give us love there if you like the show so far. It'd be great to get some iTunes reviews, too.

Great show, all. It is very nice to see you doing your own thing and not trying to duplicate an already existing show. I thought that your format and editing were quite nice. All in all it is a very good show to pick up. I look forward to your future episodes.

Much appreciated. I tried very hard to make sure setup and segments were not too close to what Blinky and Urban do. There will be some inevitable overlap, but we avoid it where we can by varying our base format.

That reminds me, a few people have commented on the host levels (esp. mine) with relation to the music levels. It's something I noticed, too, but there wasn't much I could do after the recording and boosting I had already done without taking a great deal more time. I've done a bit more research this week, and this show (which records in about 24h) should be better.

Such a great show, it was absolutely excellent, th quality of sound was great and especially the qulity of disscusion. I hope your show continues with great succes and continuity, in fact from your pilot it is in my opinion that youll have great multitude of listeners, this is my first eve-podcast and im so pleased by it, ambulation i think will be great for the game as in experience and fun but i do agree that it may take from space time for those who more like the wow type of play, although if they integrate it directly to flying around, like going to agents office or repair and seeing your ship in bay then that would be amazing!!! I would also love to see more customizability in the payers hands of ship look like color.. not a whole thing but some small things like decals or something like halo has on MC; About the "nerf" whining, well i just have this to say: if everything was stagered one way then most likely every player would choose that side, when that happens its going to be at first "i rule all cuz i kill all attitude" then it will get boring because everyone has the same exact thing and ppl would start leaving the game. Balance is necessary to keep the game interesting and fresh. As for noobs, well live and learn but of coourse listening to someone elses experience and learning is easier, take it from me waaaay easier. So the learnng curve in my opinion is quite alright, people jus need to get out more and meet more peopl, learn the game with help and then if you wanna take it solo you can; and NEVER be too shy or proud to ask questions so heres mine if anyone should know and help that be great, R&D Agents is something ive gotten into and im having tons of funsince im a Science guy in the game doing some missions, ive looked at the agent locator ( http://www.eve-agents.com/index.dxd?AgentName=&System=&Region=-&Corporation=1000019&Faction=-&Division=18&Level=-&Skill=11443&Locator=-&Item=&Sort=8&Direction=0 )and the rp/day value is quite off from what ittey has on his guide about it with his formula: RpPerDay = ( ( AgentLevel + YourSkill )^2 * ( 1 + ( EffectiveQuality / 100 ) ) ) * AreaBonus,,,,,,,which is a perfect formula but it doesnt match so i wanna know whas it nerfed a time ago of when my conception in eve hadnt begun yet? Non-Eve School is great but i need a job or its going to be No-Eve for me But ill still tune in to your cast And one last thing id like, that last song you had on your pilot show the cool techno and i think japanese lang, can you please give me an artist and song name

I've only come around to download it (iTunes ftw) and started listening to it this morning... So far so good, I'm enjoying your cast a lot!
A few things that comes to mind after about a third of the show: 1) Love the setup with PVPer, Carebear, and noob. Gives us a bit of a spectrum from different points of view. Really awesome idea. 2) In my opinion, the background music tends to be a bit too loud in comparison to the voices. No biggie, but I personally would like to see it tuned down just a point. 3) Your voices should be matched on volume. There's a big difference in volume so far. 4) Can't wait to hear of noobie's first trip to low-sec... Looking forward to that.
Keep it up guys, I'm liking it a lot.

Crovan was great when I was learning from him and I'm sure he's even more knowledgeable now. Haven't had a chance to check out his blog, but all around, the podcast was exceptional for a first try. Great job, keep up the good work. We appreciate the time you invest in the community.

Crovan, I'd love to see a future segment devoted to women Eve players, possibly building on the responses to your 2/11/2008 blog post on the topic.

I loved the show and completely agree with what you say about the torpedo changes apart from one Thing. They are actually good for NPCing I use tham. I've always used them. The reason why they seem like poor PvE weapons is probably because you're talking from the perspective of someone who flys the Raven. you want to use a typhoon because it has an armor tank and missile bays. combined with its natural speed you'll be able to fit an AB, target painter, web and capacitor recharger II.
This means that you'll have effective tackle, tank and DPS your drones will also supplement your firepower and because the target is being made bigger and slower you'll have no difficulty destroying warp scrambling frigates.
oh and you get 4 hi slots to do what you like.

Are you volunteering?
I'm very happy to get in touch with some of the women of EVE and have a discussion about women in the game. Unfortunately, the Y chromosome on the 3 hosts precludes us from talking too knowledgeably on the subject.
On that note, we want to start doing interview shows Soon (tm). If you think you have something to add to our show or a reason why we should want to talk to you, please let us know via the channels given on the show notes.
Edit:
Episode 1 is converted and sent to Brent. The music is toned down a few dB, and the louder tracks have been dropped. I also tried to play with the levels to even us out, but it was a bit difficult as I wasn't able to get everyone's audio separately this week due to technical SNAFUs, so all I had was the Skype recording, and my limiter only does so much. I manually boosted myself (as I was always the quiet one) where I could, and it should be better than the pilot, but I am still learning this stuff. Thanks for having mercy.
