On Saturday I order a GTC from one of the retailers listed as affiliated with CCP on the Eve-Online website. I have a paypall receipt showing that I have paid. I have have not yet received the code. I have e-mailed the affiliate but have received no reply. I have checked to make sure their correspondence is not stuck in my spam filter. Who at CCP should I contact about this?

If it was shattered crystal, and this is a first time buyer, they will call you before they send you the GTC.
This is to prevent fraud.

Edited by: Professor Claw on 27/02/2008 19:17:33 If you paid via paypal and have had no response from the seller since payment was made, go to the paypal site and log a complaint with them, they will mediate between you and the seller and until the problem is sorted they will freeze whatever money you paid to them. If no satisfactory outcome can be found they will refund your money. I use paypal when ever the option is available while online and when ive had problems in the past with dodgy sellers, as soon as the complaint goes in to paypal the seller suddenly becomes very talkative.

This is why I buy from Battleclinic. All the other companies will hold your order until they reach you by phone. They'll make an attempt once every 8 months at three o'clock in the morning and let it ring once.

Could be your mail that's acting up as well, happened to me once. Didn't get my timecode and contacted them. Asked them to resend etc. and 15 hours later all mails came at once. I changed email provider after that.

I had the same thing happen on Saturday too. I usually have instant response from SC.
I wrote to them and they supplied the codes in an email from a different address. They mentioned that their auto repsonse for issuing codes often gets junked by spam filters and to add them as a trusted sender.
Thats the issue, overzealous spamfilters.

That's not true for Shattered Crystal and I doubt it's true for any company really. When I first ordered from SC I gave them my phone number in an incorrect form. Within half an hour they had failed to call me, emailed me that and returned my money (my credit card company however didn't return my money for a week but that's not SCs fault).

If they have tried to call you and have got no answer after a few tries it is possible that they are in the process of refunding your money.
If it is SC the first time I used these people they called me up asked me a few questions & tell me everything is ok & that I will get my code in a few minutes, the next thing I know I am having to supply some 3rd party company proof of who I was as for some reason SC decided that I wasn't who I was telling them I was and that I didn't give them the right names of the streets etc around my area, this had me a bit confused as I know I had given them the right info.
Anyway after a couple of hours of stuffing around it was all worked out, so is it possible this same sort of thing has happened to you?

Well the company wasn't EvE time codes (which I've had dealings with in the past) but one who's name sounded similar. Didn't say anything about a phone call (one of the reason's I don't use Shattered Crystal, I don't want people calling me in RL about a game). TBH if CCP hadn't recommended them I would never have used them. I wonder if I haven't somehow been Phished. Link to the list of approved GTC retailers came up on a google search (top of results). URL of the website google linked to for the list was clearly from eve-online.com (didn't see Eve Time Codes still on the list and didn't want to track down somebody that was no longer affiliated with CCP, hence I ended up using the new people).

If you would get over being nervous about someone calling you to confirm your details, you would have your time codes already. Shattered is an excellent vendor, and that first call is to confirm who you are and that you havnt stolen the card. If they get taken by someone who stole a credit card, and that transaction is reversed, you've just gotten a free GTC. After the initial order, everything is sent directly to e-mail.

I had a problem with EVE-Codes that was on the approved list. I ordered my codes and paid for them via PayPal and was waiting for my codes. After 24 hours, like the web site mentioned, I tried contacting the company/person but never got a response. So contacted PayPal and like others mentioned, he responded almost like 5 minutes after getting the message from PayPal. (BTW Kaphel, PayPal DOES cover everything that a PayPal affiliate sells, including Time Codes)
Anyway said he was slow in getting the codes from CCP and would have them on Monday. I ordered them on the previous Tuesday. I told PayPal and him, that was fine and I could wait.
Well Monday came and went and still didn't have the codes. Contacted PayPal again and then he refunded my money. I contacted CCP to let them know about the problem and gave them his name and the website, etc and asked them to remove him from the approved list. I see they never did. But you can complain too and maybe they will get the idea.
Again contact PayPal and I know you will get satisfaction.

I know this, but i think atm it is also cheaper to get gtc's and use those cuz of the Euro/USD exchange rate thingy.
I do wish ccp would compensate for this, apparently it was even cheaper to get a 2nd account using gtc's then it was to accept ccp's power of 2 offer if u were paying with Euros, which is kinda sad impo. _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

Have you tried logging on to your webmail, I had a problem not receiveing mail but it was all on the webmail.
I have found Shattered Crystal very quick and had no problems with them, keep updating here to let us know if they or paypal get it sorted.

As I said earlier chances are its a spam filter taking out the email with the codes on it. That happens a lot they advised me.
I added it as a trusted sender and its been fine since.
I take it you dropped them a note? They got back to me pretty quickly when I contacted them.

Ok, 1 final question from me.
atm i'm using direct debit to pay for my sub, if i change this to GTC and fill in the code, does it add the time to my current playtime or will i lose the time i have left? (which is middle march give or take a day) _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

You will have your time left, then the day the sub is up, enter the GTC. Obviously you want to cancel the debit before the next billing cycle to avoid that charge.

Just to let you know, when you CHANGE your method of payment (From Debit Card to GTC), the GTC will ADD 90 days to your account. If your debit card time expires on 15 Mar 2008 and you add a 90 day card, it will then expire on 15 June 2008 (or there abouts) and there will be an "Extend" link on your payment type. You can keep adding GTC to this Extend link and keep adding time to your account.
As my understanding, if your GTC expires and you have left the Debit/Credit card as a backup, they will charge those cards, if you don't add more time to your account via GTC's.
Well that is what I understand anyway. Hope this helps...

Just be glad you don't work abroad. I'm an American working overseas. These guys always want to call my home phone number as registered on my bank accounts and PayPal, but I'm frequently only back in the States once every couple of years. How I wish for the good old days where credit cards could be used, and they relied on the credit card company to take care of security. With PayPal it seems the fact that I have a PayPal password and can order the money sent means nothing. Maybe I'll get a SkypeOut number or something.

Quick Question.
Why do they require phone verification?? I've never heard of any other site asking for something as silly as this...
I can buy something online for a few thousand and require no verification. do you know why?? coz it's a credit card and they're designed to be safe even if stolen
