Are you only able to reload missles as a station ?

No, right click on the launcher icon on your ship UI and select Reload. Or drag some missiles over top of the icon (only works if you're putting in the same kind of missiles as are already in the launcher, IIRC).

You keep missiles in your ship's cargo hold. Then when your launcher runs out you just right click on it and hit Reload, or you can load different ammo types. This is the way turrets work, as well.

I wish there was a module or something that'd let you auto-reload.

We don't need a module, we need a HOT KEY!!! PLEASE!!! CCP will have to pay for the damage being done to my wrist and elbow from all this needless mousing...

If you have problems with your launchers it's probably because CCP screwed up on their last patch, and didn't bother to test the UI properly.
Sometimes it is not possible to reload, sometimes it's putting them on autorepeat, either way the solution seems to be to unfit them, repackage, then fit them again...
