Hey Everyone
Any suggestions on a good defense against a spider tanking group of ships?
Any suggestions on breaking a spider tanked group of ships?
Thank you for your comments and assistance.

A combination of ECM and Sensor dampeners (locking time) on supporting ships (ie, jam&Damp anything but your active target) tends to break most Spidertanking groups.
Use some kind of specialty jamming ship (Kitsune, Blackbird, Rook, Falcon or Scorpion) or just hideous amounts of ECM drones and then fit in sensordamps on your regular combat ships. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. As others have said - ecm, damps, and bump.
ECM (should be obvious) ECM burst (requires you to be in the middle of them though...) ECM drones (always nice ) damp - best used w/ ecm, and use locking time scripts, break their lock, and damp them so they can't lock each other again bump - range on large remote reps is ~8km, if you use this technique though, kill any logistics ships fast (range of up to ~70km)
And lastly (but not leastly) - get a bunch of minny BS's or abaddons and alpha them out of existance with every shot (need ~100,000 alpha to mostly guarantee kill on BS's... max any bs can take is ~300,000, but if it has that then you can safely ignore it because it can't do anything else) For instapopping, you need to have you dps within about 10 seconds or so to guarantee that they can't repair your target.

Or for simple elegance and exploitation of psychology:
Call multiple primaries. Give each of your squads a primary instead of one fleet primary.
They almost certainly won't manage to call reps onto the affected ships before a few die.
Of course, jammers and megabumpage work wonders. As do energy neuts. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

Or rapidly switch primaries to increase their (and your own) workload.

would a bombing wing help out? with the 15km blast and everything. i'm thinking its what they were made for but dont know enough about them to be sure.
as for defence could you not make your own web? Because sometimes you just have to go back to your roots: [2005.02.20 01:08:03] (combat) Your Civilian Light Electron Blaster perfectly strikes Serpentis Smuggler, wrecking for 20.3 damage. |

Give this guy a gold medal.
Also, nevermind I wouldnt want you to know how to confuse spider tankers, just try to use your imagination there are a few more tactics.

bombs don't hurt bs's that much really... takes atleast 3 of them and thats if they're untanked to the dmg of the bomb. bombs are good for killing unwary inties/t1 cruisers

I have never used ECM bursts. Does it affect both enemies and friends?

This.
Its alot less confusing for you to switch primaries around to mess up their rep than it is for them to rep the right ship. Reaction time, etc.

Yes they affect both your friends and the hostiles. All they do is break the lock - they can instantly try to re-lock you, unlike a normal ecm jammer. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game.
