The game is locking up for 2 or 3 seconds on a regular basis (every 15 or 20 seconds.
I've only been playing for a couple of days. This problem started after yesterdays server down time.
Anyone else having this problem or any ideas what may be causing it ?

I had that problem.. Sept it was 10 to 15 seconds of hang with only 5 to 10 seconds in between them.
It turned out to be something in the newbie corp was causing it. I fixed it by going to the corp window, then I said yes to retrieve all 4500+ members from the members TAB so I could get my name on the list. That took 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Finally i right clicked on my name in the members list and select to eject from the corp.
Leaving the newbie corp fixed the problem for me.

I had the same problem. I think the problem is caused by leaving your People & Places window open. Make sure if you use it, you close it before you hit warp. I don't use it at all, and my problem stopped. This was discovered by another user on this forum, so I'm not taking any credit. )

Ive noticed the same thing the past few days ... this type of thing is usualy line or server lag. Causes the "rubberband" effect a lot which is pretty annoying.

I have the same problems. Been logged in for about 10 minutes so far and I have only experienced major problems. I will try to follow your advices when the server goes up again. I really hope it works better now.

Same here, bought the game today and I'm really wanting to like this game. But these lock-ups are really start to annoy me. When I start playing it goes well, but after 10 minutes or so the game freezes for a few seconds, then it continues playing for a 30 secs or so and then it freezes again, this continues until I quit the game and reconnect.
I don't have the People and Places window open, so that's not the problem. All windows are closed, including the chat channels.

Yeah same problem here I hope they find a solution to it soon as its really spoiling my gameplay.
I've tried the things the other guys mentioned but it hasn't helped.

I had the exact same problem. I deleted the cache (including prefs.ini) and it stopped.
