Edited by: Valenthra on 01/03/2008 00:33:03 Edited by: Valenthra on 01/03/2008 00:32:06 I am close too 10 million SP now only 2 days left for that and which 90% is on combat/fitting skills.
I was thinking of getting a few R&D Agents too get datacores and sell for isk -> Buy GTCs for due too a rocky economy IRL so want to get a few and leave them there too fill my wallet. So what I need is: Science IV -> V Research 0 -> V Laboratory Operation -> V Research Project Management -> III, IV??? XXXXX Engineering -> 0 -> ??????
How many agents would be enough of what level/Quality in avarage too supply or almost supply my need for isk for a GTC? Pretty odd question and kinda stupid for my character too train for this maybe but ye...
EDIT: What more use can I draw from a R&D agent? EDIT 2: Where can i aquire these Engineering skills...?

Prices are converging to the point where with the maximum possible number of the best agents, you can just about sustain an account with datacores from agents working for one character.
As for the skills, that depends on which agents you have access to. You'll need to spend a while grinding standings for the corp that they belong to before they'll work with you.
R&D agents don't have many other uses; if you travel out to them once per day and do a mission for them, you can double the rp output, but this is seldom worthwhile as it takes so long to cover multiple agents, even if all they want is a small pile of trit. However, they count towards the 15 normal missions needed at any one level per storyline mission at that level.
The engineering/science skills are available via various faction LP stores iirc - I can't remmeber which, but probably the R&D corp stores - or from the market where people are reselling them. Try Jita if in doubt.

Engineering skill level will increase your RP gain per day as well as your standing to that agent. So training it to 4 or 5 can be worth while if you have the time.
Research Proj lvl 4 will give you 5 R&D agents. Lvl 5 is a 40 day train and few people do it unless they plan to go on vacation or AFK over an extended period of time. But it brings in the datacores.

With Chartum, best paying datacores are nanite engineering. but I am not sure if you can get 5 agents (training the skills for the 6th agent require a lot of SP).
The different books required for R&D (the xx engineering) are sold at 10 millions in most stations selling skillbooks. With luck you can find some in the "silence the informant" mission destroying the building where the target live (in the past skillbooks from that building were a common drop, now they are more rare).
Skillpoint required for 5 agents, almost 1 million, and another million to get a xx engineering skill to 5.
Production about 460 RP day, so 9 datacores or a bit more than 5 millions for the best priced datacores.
You can increase the numbers getting agents in the same general area and running the missions.
I can do 2 Chartun and 1 Creodron in less than 20 minutes, all level 4, and that is another 270 RP/day and 3 missions for my storylines.

If u group ur agents close together, that makes it easy to run the R&d missions each day.. I am surprized u do not already have engineering at 5 considering the need for same in combat.... running the r&d missions does count toward the 16 (not 15)missions needed for a storyline.... Remember that for r&d agents quality counts more than lvl for rp's...thus a level 3 18qual agent will give u more rp's than a lvl 4 -17 agent.....the higher u train the advanced eng skill such as nanite eng etc the greater the rp's also..
