I've looked through, around the forums, and couldn't find anything about it, so I'll post a thread anyway.
I was thinking that in many highly trafficated systems, there are usually a number of anchored containers, with names like "corp x is recruiting", "friendly industry corp yada-yada" etc. You all know what I'm talking about. And next to it are the billboards with a little font saying "This space for rent". Although, afaik, that space isn't for rent - but it should be. Consider renting that space, in a certain system, for a very small fee - something that should equal the cost of anchoring and getting containers and so forth. Get the players to send in a little image and a text, and grab a fee of like 50k ISK for a month or so. Would make it a little more visually appealing.
I haven't really considered this idea at all, I'm just wondering what the reasons to not do it is.

For some reason I thought something like this was coming out with Trinity. Guess I was wrong. I am not sure how the pricing would work. Maybe like renting an office somewhere. You could select which billboard you would like to advertise on or something. Give it a monthly fee that changes depending on how many people are wanting to rent on that specific billboard, like in real life.
This would be an isk sink for those corps/alliances that have the extra isk floating around. You could even have it have a message you would like everyone to see. Maybe the latest kill by that corp or a warning message or other things. Of course it would need to follow the EULA and stuff.
Make it part of renting an office and give that office a 'Deluxe Package' deal or something, but this would be very enjoyable to the EVE community I think.

Cool idea, and would save on can spam which Trinity 1.1's cleanup code will make a pain to maintain anyway. ___ "If you can't debate using logic & fact, and at least recognise other people's point of view, don't waste time posting on forums. It only makes you look like a teenage idiot." |

Theres the new recruitment feature for corps link it to the billboard so the billboard selects a random corp who are paying for a recruitment add in that system and displays "corp name - recruitment message" at the bottom of the billboard in the scrolling area.

Excellent idea, and/or have it display the corp logo for good measure -- Sig Under Construction |
