Myrmidon PvE level 3 mission runner:
High: 5x Modal Neutron Particle Accelerator I 1x Drone Link Augmentor Mid: 1x 10NM MicroWarp drive II 4x Cap Recharger II Low: 4x Armor Hardeners 1x Medium Armor Repair II 1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer Rigs: 3x Capacitor Control Circuit I

The bottom build has a lot more tank, but less flexibility in changes to the build and about ~45 less DPS.

Unless you've crosstrained for projectiles, 200 or 250 mm railguns with a drone range mod, afterburner, web, and cap rechargers. Plenty of lowslots for a dual rep tank and a damage mod.

The Myrmidon is a wonderful ship, one of the most forgiving I've ever flown.
Try this for PVE:
Highslots: 6x Heavy Ion Blaster Midslots: 10MN AB, Web, 3x Cap Recharger II Lowslots: 2x MAR II, 3x Rat Specific Hardeners, 1x Beta CPR
Rigs: However many CCCs you need to feel comfortable perma-running the tank, the rest Aux Nano Pumps.
The strategy with this fit is obvious: Rush towards your enemies, web them and then turn the blasters on them and watch them melt away. Watch your tank absorb their pitiful firepower as your Medium Drones clear up most everything else in the area. The tank on this with Battlecruiser IV or V is simple insane, and if you rig it it's comparable to some Battleship class tanks.
You can swap the Blasters for Railguns if that is what you prefer. I personally like to run down the larger enemies and pound them into dust with Antimatter myself with the Myrm. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

I use a fitting almost like this, except I use a DC2 in place of one of the hardeners. It's very nice. -------------------------------------------------- <3 my Drones |

Shield Myrmi:
6x Shield Power Relays II
4x Large Shield Extenders II 1x Dissipation Field II, rat specific
6x cap-free w/e, include at least 1 gun
3x Core Defence Field Purger I
Dronz \o/

PVP, Nanocatcher:
So, Nanos fight if they feel they can win (else they will just run), BC is a max what they will attack in low sec. So let's give them what they deserve, shall we?
High: 6 LIGHT neutron blasters, or mixed with some drone link Med: MWD, Scrambler, Disruptor, 2x Drone nav. Low: DC, 2x EAN, 2x 1600m Rolled Tungsten, OD Injector Rig: Non Drones: Warrior II for the intys Hheads II for the cruisers
Play the injured duck, and if they attack, take the weakest (and the most expensive polyrigged enemy) possible enemy/ enemies down. If u loose the ship, no matter, low costs, insurancy.... will cost u only 20M ISK max, a T2 cruiser cost mosre than 110M ISK (no insurance), and with polyrigs, well ... keep theyr money burning.

Agreed. WTF indeed. WTB: Whatever this guy was smoking.
That setup will run out of capacitor in a distressingly SHORT time, even with maxxed capacitor skills. Shield recharge is about 323 hp/sec... not too bad, but you'll want better resists. Go with active hardeners, or double up on the res. amps. You are mixing weapon types and ranges. Why? Lasers eat cap hideously fast. Railguns are a little easier on cap, but you have **** for cap recharge. A passive shield tank should run projectiles and/or missiles since they use no cap. Again, an afterburner on a setup that has no cap recharge....You're going to be sitting a long long time waiting for your cap to recharge enough to start shooting again or even warp back to a station.
With the 6 SPR IIs in the lows, try: Mids: 3-4 LSE IIs and the rest as resistance mods (Active hardeners are better than passive amplifiers) Highs: Medium Projectiles, 1 DLA for drone range.
Level 4s can be tanked in a Myrmidon. (It can be loads of fun as well) With 3s and 4s, forget about salvaging on the fly. Get a dedicated salvage ship. It'll go much faster and easier if you kill at maximum efficiency, then salvage at maximum efficiency. (Destroyers are a favorite for salvage. 4 salvage, 4 tractor, salvage tackle rigs) _______________________________

Highs: x3 720mm Jolt Arty and x2 650mm Jolt Arty with x1 Drone Range Augmentor.
Mids: x3 T-2 Large Extenders with x2 T-2 Mission Specific Amplifiers.
Lows: x6 T-2 Shield Power Relays (actually I use the Beta T-1 to save on CPU as they have the same 24% recharge.)
Rigs: x3 Shield Recharge Purgers.
In the Space Dock fitting Screen I have 14,500 HP in shields with a 100 recharge rate.
I also have three implants though.
+3% shield recharge +3% Shield HP +3% extra Power Grid.

Don't recommend COSMOS mods if they aren't absolutely necessary. They're expensive and hard to come by, which makes fits dependent on them rather hard to make. Just fit 5 650mm Arty and a Drone Link Augmentor. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

Edited by: Exelon Bei on 04/03/2008 19:44:05 What about this setup for PvP:
High: 6x Heavy Neutron t2
Med: 1x MWD(named) 1x Web(named) 1x Warp scrambler 1x Med Cap booster(named) 1x Tracking Disruptor(named)
Low: 2x MAR t2 1x Explosive Hardener 1x Adaptive nano membrane 1x Damage Control t2 1x Power Diagnostic System
Rig: 2x Ancillary Current Router(+10% power grid) 1x Capacitor Control Circuit
So, a tigth fit...actually to tight since i need a pdu AND 2 ACR rigs
One thing i could do is to change the Neutrons t2 with Ions t2, though my drone skills aren't all to high(no t2 yet), so i would like some good turret dps(don't say "change to turret ship" or something like that )
And concernig drones. Does anyone have any experience about what drone combinations generaly work well for PvP in 0.0(both solo and small gang)
Any suggestions? ______ _______ ___\_(X)_/____ _____= =_____ |

Edited by: Nick Bison on 04/03/2008 21:20:07 Myrmadon 0.0 Ratting. Not sure if it would be much good for PvP as I have not used it as such. However, for a mid-skilled player, this works great for ratting in the Drone Regions.
Hi: 4 x 250mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 1 x Tractor Beam I 1 x Salvager I Me: 1 x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner 3 x Cap Recharger II 1 x Medium C5-L Emergency Shield Overload I Lo: 1 x 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1 x N-Type Adaptive Nano Membrane I 1 x N-Type Reactive Membrane 1 x N-Type Explosive Hardener 1 x Damage Control II 1 x Medium Automated I Carapace Restoration Drones: 5 x Hammerhead II rest - roll your own
NOTE 1: Damage Control II running all the time. NOTE 2: I use the Shield Repper initially and it is rare that a 2 or 3 BB spawn gets thru my shields. When they do, turn off the shield rep and turn on the Armor hardner and Armor Repper.

Hmm, not bad. Quite different than the usual setups, but still works. Most ppl will flame you for shield + armor tank tho.
What I would suggest with this fit is dont use the shield boost while in combat. Let them eat the shields, then armor tank, then after the fight boost back your shields to 100%. Cap efficiency is more efficient on armor and you got way more resist on it with this fit.
I think what most ppl would do it drop the shield boost and the 800mm plate, and fit another cap charger and another med rep. But diversity is good.

I'm gonna be the guy to flame you for combining tank types. And while I'm at it. . .
Highslots: Fine, more or less. Midslots: You may want to swap the AB for a MWD, just for the mobility advantages it provides. I really am not fond of the shield booster. A web to help with targets close by, a 4th cap Recharger to use the rep more, any of those would probably be better. It is extremely inefficient to shield tank with only a DCU boosting your natural resistances. The Myrm is meant to armor tank and has bonuses towards that. With good skills, a T2 rep will work like a Deadspace rep on any other ship.
Lowslots: Try to get the skills for T2 gear down here. T2 armor tank gear is a very noticeable improvement over T1, and it's fairly cheap too. As you shouldn't be having major cap problems, swap the Reactive Membrane for a second Explosive Hardener, you'll get better resistances this way.
Also, remember that N-type gear doesn't net you any performance advantages over vanilla T1, it only uses less CPU. So, if you have CPU to spare, you can use cheaper basic T1 instead. As for the rep, T2 only requires Repair Systems IV and will give a very nice improvement to your tank. Consider a dual rep tank as well, that greatly increases your burst tanking ability, which matters when you fight other players.
The Drones are fine.
And can CCP PLEASE fix the forums? You don't want to know how many times I tried to submit this post. . . -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |
