Edited by: Aldrad on 02/03/2008 10:25:32 Hey folks,
Are any other players based in the UK receiving a weird amount of lag, even with 20-30 players in system. Checked my internet connection speed, and seems to be fine (4+ mbs).
Any UK players receiving this lag? :/
p.s. No, i'm not using tiscali. :)

Actually yes. two of my UK corpies are struggling with lag and dropping. Done reinstalls, even got new modems. nothing helps. Their ISPs are not known for heavy traffic shaping. Going to try ping plotter see if they can source the problem.

Yup, same here. Though its not my actual internet connection.. Cause i checked it at the time using http://www.cnet.co.uk/misc/speedtest, and it indicates my connection is runing at regular speed.
One of my corp mates got killed the other night due to the sudden lag I received, when I could have easily helped him kill the hostile.

Me too, on AOL. Get random disconnects within a few mins of logging on, and get really bad lag until then.

AOL here and since Friday I am struggling to play. It's taken me 15-30 seconds to jump and mods are taking 5-10 seconds to activate.
Very annoyed.

Been getting same lag issues since latest patch. Everything that needs loading takes much longer. Seems to be independant of total players in system/online. Not playable when each gatejump/station undock could end in lagdeath

Edited by: Eloi Brand on 03/03/2008 13:53:21 I have the same issue and my internet provider is AOL. My son has a similar problem with COD4 on his XBox 360 and I've also had problems with UT3.
I telephoned AOL Technical Support and they said the problem was due to the fact that I had my SKY+ box connected to my phone.
I told her not to be so stupid. I've had AOL and SKY+ for over three years now and never had a problem.

I can't keep more than one client connected for any length of time, and even when connected I get enormous amounts of lag even in quiet systems. All my other internet applications function normally.

just chatted online to Aol help - their response: I would like to inform you that the slow speed issue or some issues with certain websites that you are facing is due to the network migration of AOL servers. However, I have come across some cases where some basic steps have resolved the issue. Thus, I am sending the steps to you via Email. In case, the steps don't work, please do not worry. Wait for another 24-48 hours whilst we get the server issues sorted out.
I'm not holding my breath Al Irksome

I use AOL and after using pingplotter I too am having the same problem with the third hop (which is technically the second since the first hop is my router ). This is the same hop with the problem as listed by both Drazi1's and Kjuk's pingplotter results, except I have almost constant 100% PL

Its ridiculous really, I've been with AOl for over 5 years, had no problem with them in the past, only now they've all of a sudden gone retentive and went and done a tiscali. Furthermore there was no notification, on any of my screen names. I asked the live support for any kind of timeframe, and they had no idea.
Its unacceptable.
Thoughts?

I think they did send a mail, about it, but surely near the time of the so called migrtstion they should notify all users they may have problems.
