Recently, some of my alliance mates were running a ganking operation into some other alliance's space. They ganked a mackinaw in an ice belt in a station system... and the following scene ensued...
1. POD sat still for 2 min 2. POD warped to the station and docked 3. POD undocked and warped back to the belt 4. POD waited 4.9 minutes 5. GoTo step 2
Now.... this was not some Noob corp in empire... this was a 0.0 space-holding alliance, with voice coms and such. Don't tell me that this alliance/corp was unaware that they had a macro working in their midst.
You want to get rid of cheaters? I suggest providing incentives for alliances/corps to police themselves. If your corp/alliance gets caught supporting macro ratters or macro miners.... then there should be a financial penalty levied against the corp/alliance.
IF you get caught by a GM, in addition to getting that macro account banned, you get your alliance fined 1 billion and your corp fined 500mil. I guarantee that p!ssed off alliance mates would guarantee that the community would help police itself!

I'd appriciate if your proposals were taken serious, but i don't think this will happen, don't think corps/alliances will ever be held liable for their members rulebraking. But it's a good thing if you police there, and i think it's an effective penalty if you make the name of the alliance/corp public. Of corse this should be with some proof (fraps or something), not just random accusation. Then the reputation damage for the corp/ally would be greater than the advantage, which they got from a macro member, and they would probably take care of it. Noone wants to be seen as a macro-corp/ally.

Congratulations you stumbled on something that has been known for a long time.
9 out of 10 that is a alt of a PvP'r that will publicly state they hate miners. Why let honest miners go into 0.0 and do what they like to do when you can just run a macro and get the same job done.
Nothing will change it has been going on for years now. And this thread will die as a lot of 0.0 alliances would like everyone to forget it is even happening.
And people complain about everyone in high sec. Wonder why when 0.0 is filled with farming Ravens and macro miners.

1. ISK-farming Ravens are in 0.0 through one of 2 Mechanics... i) They are run out there by members of an NPC corp and they run 23/7... or ii) They are "invited" into 0.0 alliances, put in a corp with a high tax rate and basically generate passive income for that corp.
2. There are very few Macro-miners in 0.0 that are there without the knowledge of the alliance holding that space. Many of these corps are invited in, on the condidition they pay rent in the form of ISK, ice or minerals.
When it is clear that the corp/alliance is complicit in allowing illegal behavior, they should be punished. Banning an account just isn't enough... as for every account these macro-ratters/miners, they culprit has 2 others ready to take its place.
I would love to kill every single Isk-farming Raven I see... but when they cloak up the second you jump into system.. its kind of hard to catch them.
Ban them and bill them... its the only way.

I like your proposal Sir but respectfully request the penalties be higher in order to fully illustrate the full fury and power that the GM's should be bringing to bear against these vile creatures. +++++++++++++++ For the LAST time...

We dropped a petition in the cue... and within an hour he was moved to a noob corp and is apparently no longer in-game.

No. I vote the opposite. Empire mining should be bottable. Active players should have even more reason to leave empire for 0.0.
