Hello Everyone and welcome.
The EPA is a newly created organisation which wants to give you the pilots a platform for PvP Leagues. Right now everything is prepared for the 1st Season of our 1 vs 1 Frig League, when we get more players who are willing to organise a league we will expand to other ship classes and other modes. Examples are 1 vs. 1 leagues up to battleships, Corp and alliance Leagues and also mixed ship class leagues.

Of course you can also win something, besides showing the universe that you are one of the best pilots out there.
Also we are looking for pilots who want to help with the organisation, in the future, as it requires a couple of players to bring this to a bigger dimension.
Hopefully we will see you in the 1st season.

Nvm, I didn't read properly (All fights happen in 0.0).
But still wont stop me asking, can we have matches in lowsec?

Low sec fights will not be arranged for the following reasons:
1. You can not anchor bubbles in Low sec and The arena will be a large bubble as stated in the rules.
2. Not everyone is fine with taking sec hits.
Also the chosen 0.0 System will be very close to High sec space so that ppl do not need to travel 20 Jumps through 0.0 and low sec.

so fight will be in large warp-disrupting bubble and podding is allowed so I assume that every looser will be podded.
good luck at filling up your 1st division and running 1st contest....

Count me in though when you allow lowsec fights, I'm not brave enough to come to 0.0.

Well the point for allowing the podding is quite simple. I want everyone to have a fair chance in that tournament and when podding is allowed people will think twice if they want to risk any expansive pirate implants to gain an advantage.
I know ppl will now say: Just do not allow Pirate implants. The point is: I can create a rule that they are not allowed but i can not look at the peoples clones so there is no way to make sure that people would stick to that rule.

It certainly looks and sounds a cool idea, but I'm curious to know - how many people are signed up already?
Depending on where the fights are held then I could certainly be interested, I would just need to know a few more details such as likely first fight date and such, based on numbers I would presume.
Either way - best of luck with the project - could be fun!

Well.. let me put it like that.
There are quite some people who are interested in this and would be willing to sign up, but are just waiting with signing up a bit to see if its really worth it. But so far i did not get any really negative response, except for 2 pilots trying to argue with me about the concept of taking a large bubble as arena and allowing the podding, but the rules have been set like they are now for a good reason.
But also I just published this 2 days ago and it looks like not many people are visiting the events forums ;). Feel free to tell people about it and sign up together with them ;).
I was thinking about starting the 1st season in arround 3 weeks, and no matter if i can just fill 1 division with players or 20 divisions. As long as we can run a full division i am fine with it. And if the people who like it, will tell their friends about it, there might be more pilots signing up for the next season then.
But to see how many pilots would be interested to enter the league i can give everyone the chance to send me a pre-application via eve-mail (just for the 1st season) and give you the chance to pay the sign up fee etc. arround a week before the league starts. I will also publish names of pilots who signed up in the news once in a while to give you an overview if there are people signing up.
I hope that pretty much covers your questions for now. Current set location of the matches wonŠt be published here as there might be trolls who would like to bust this kind of event and i want to prevent that. So any info like that will only be given to registered pilots.
And thanks for your response. Even if things are going a bit slow so far i am happy whenever i can see that some1 else is interested in this ;).

perhaps access to outpost with jump clone capability? as I cant see anyone wanting to risk their current implants for a tournament like this where podding is all but guaranteed

Well... though i am looking for alliances to support this league I really doubt any alliance would grant every1 in the game docking rights to their outpost.
But there is an npc station 2 jumps from the current match location where you have the possibility to install a jump clone ;).

I've signed up for a free frig tourneys before and they were a blast, but they were in high sec and cans were used to get aggro, bit of a pain but alot less hassle.
So I'd like to enter this but tbh 0.0's just a pain, jump clones are a hassle and getting all the way out there isnt gonna be set AP go afk for 10 and presto.
Unless the prizes make up for all the effort think I'll pass on it, good luck though love seeing these events organised.

Well.. to get into the 0.0 System i have chosen you have to make 5 jumps from high sec in total. Which means the ap can bring you quite far. The entry to 0.0 usually is just camped by people who are friendly to me so getting in there is not a big deal as well.
The Reasons why i chose a large bubble as arena:
The bubble has a visual effect (as you all know) which makes it possible to check that every pilot stays inside the arena + you force people into a fight and not just busting arround wild when you can not kill your opponent but might be able to outrun them and try to get away with a draw (this is much more difficult if you just have a certain area you can use to move arround in). Also you do not have to do that canflipping stuff in 0.0 which i have to admit is not a big deal when its 1vs1 fights. But this league is meant to be a test run for several leagues with more pilots in each match. When you enter a match 8vs8 and you have to do the canflipping thing in half of the matches a few ppl end up getting shot by concord as its kind of chaotic then.

The reason for not allowing faction frigs is, that everyone should have a fair chance to win the matches and not the one who has the most ISK on his wallet.
For people who want to fly faction frigs i will create a seperate league soon.

Sounds like a good idea, but to be honest people are just going to gank the event cause somehow people are going to find out where it is at and crash the party

why not run this in 0.0 on the test server?
I'm allready in 0.0 space I can't even think about what happens if a wartarget is there, then it will go insane.

The first few players have signed up. If a few more sign up at that rate we can at least start season 1 with 1 complete division in about 2 weeks. So sign up and reserve your place in the league ;).

I would be interested, perhaps, but seems a bit inflexible with respect to the times of matches. Would like to see it more like, you get back all your collateral after showing up for half your matches. Cause you can't expect everyone to be able to be there every single weekend.
Also am I correct in understanding that out of 10 people in a league, only the 1st place gets a prize? No second/3rd place prizes at all? Considering the prize is 5x the entry cost and you have a 1/10 chance of winning it, that's not very enticing statistics, I must say...

How to sign up:
It is stated in the info section of the homepage. You can also join the ingame Channel to pre-register for now.
Prices: Yes. The prices are not very high in this league in the 1st season. From time to time there will be higher leagues in which pilots will advance when they are top ranked in a division. In higher leagues you can earn more ISK. The rewards would be higher if i would ask for a higher entry fee, but since i do want to give younger chars the chance to take part the entry fee is quite low and i will not invest my own ISK into this as i am already investing a lot of time into this project. If I would give money to the Top 3 the reward for the winner would be lowered again and would just make it even less attractive for some people. To have more ppl winning prices i chose to create multiple divisions on each level of the league, which in fact will increase chances to win a price. I could as well just setup 1 division at each level and put all players in there and give a price to the top 3.
Little example:
100 Players Register
Current System: 100 Players = 10 Divisions = 10 Winners = 10% Chance to win a price
1 Division System: 100 Players = 1 Division = Top 3 get prices = 3% Chance to win a price (in this system i could offer higher rewards, but you chances to win would be really low).
Colleteral: You will get back 1/9th of the colletaral (in this league 5 mil) back for showing up for the matches. So if you do not have the time to get to the matches, you do not really lose that much. You will have arround 6 hours every weekend to play the against your opponont, which is more than enough time. You can not expect me to be available 24/7 and just being available all day to wait and see if someone might be willing to play a match.
