here i am with another question ^:^
anyway I need to ask the group about what would be a good ship to mine with (freg.) any race, im an amarr I think how ever you spell it  I have a punisher but I cant hold much in it and the armodello to me just need a better payload . It seems that you cant put much in her I do also have a probe its nice. I just thought I could us some advice on what would make a good minner that can protect its self. I do have skills learned some to help I just cant seem to find a ship that can hull halfway good and mine and have a wep to fight off rats thanks

Vigil is a minmatar frigate....can fit 2 miner 2's have 1 medium drone and a launcher with missiles for some protection.

That's if your mining into a can and collecting with an indy. If not, then you could try a probe or an imicus. The imicus is probably the better of the two having more cargo and drone space.
I gather aiming for a cruiser for mining is a lot better though. Unfortunately I gave up on mining before getting that far

galente is the way to go immicus frigate then trade in for vexor cruiser.
vexor has one less laser then thorax but a lot more cargo.

I have found that my Thorax, with a cargo expander, and drones V trained means I can mine to my hearts content in 0.6 > space.
The obvious disadvantage is cargo space. So gang mining is a must, with somebody hauling.
Now that I have indy skill trained, I can fly in a few secure cargo holds, anchor them and mine that way.
With sufficient co-processors I can run 1 modular miner, and 4 miner II's, and still use 10MN AB's on her.
Thorax, sexy looking, and damned good at mining

First a was mining with imicus, then with the thorax I had vapors on them. Now i am mining with BS Amarr Apocalypso 8 miner II on it + 6 mining drones + 3 heavy wasp.
And train too BS Apoc as fast as possible but do not go mine alone in 0.4 or lower you fest supper for pirates i learned the hard way. Take one or two bs fighter support with you all the time.
As for hauler first i trained galente till lvl 4. Then i discovered that the amarr industral was better then the galente. But now I have an iteron V they cannot be outclassed by any of the industrials. But it takes a month too train them from lvl 4 till 5

The Imicus for a frigate, definitely. I know it's ugly, but it performs. Either that or a probe, though I tend to use Probes for ninja mining. It's great how the Probes live up to their name.
And then of course, you move on to a Thorax, and with a few electronics skill levels and basic co-processors, you're set with 5 miner IIs. The drone bay also means mining drones, and depending on skills, just 8 basic mining drones is almost like having a sixth miner II (more or less).
