Just moved from a Caldari agent to a Amarr agent to do level 4s. State of play is at present I'm grinding away with the Amarr Level 4 agent in a tech II fitted CNR, and about a month away from climbing into the shiny Golem in my hangar. But I fancy a change. I believe Amarr ships are great against sansha and bloods so I am wondering what BS I should be flying and what sort of setup.
I'll also post some of my skills to give you an idea where I'm upto:
Amarr BS III
AWU III, but training at mo to V Large Laser V Motion Pred V Rapid Fire V Sharp Shooter V Surgical V Traj Anal IV
Hull upgrades IV Repair Systems IV Mechanic V Armour Rigging I
And drones Medium Tech II
Also I'm at the crossroads regarding Tech 2 lasers, which should I train for, I'm about a week off both Large Beam and Large Pulse?
In the long run I will climb into either a Nightmare or the Paladin I guess

abaddon :)
pulse setup. there are threads in the ship fitting sticky about fits :)
skills id train in this order before useing it tho:
bs 4 hull upgrades 5 rep systems 5 awu 4
then you should have all the skills neededto get a very good fit on the ship :) ---------------------------------- This is Me, fighting stupidity one post at a time. PS: There are no computer BUGs, there is stuff called "Random Features"

Geddon for it's 125m3 Dronebay. 2 Medium (Kin/Exp) sets and one small (Therm) are perfekt to switch a little damage to the needed types.
Apoc for it's great cap/-recharg making it easier to sustain. After the changes realy great for Megapulse (some BS stay at 50km+ range).
Abaddon ... hmm, have problems to get fittings sometimes.
Navy Apoc for it's slot layout. To bad the 7,5% range does not converts :(.

All of them will be viable come next patch. Currently both the Armageddon and Abaddon work well.

From the threads I have asked similar questions I would highly recommend the NIGHTMARE only because your in Amarr Space and the Rats you will predominantly fight are perfect for it.

I like the Geddon for the massive drone bay and the extra leeway with cap, but I'm planning on moving to an Abaddon once I get my battleship skill to 4.

Personally i love my Abaddon the most for missioning, it has good damage and good tank although its as slow as a brick. Its good for most things but a lot of Amarr stuff can struggle against Guristas a bit but iv also got an artillery fit Apoc which i just use for messing around and against some Guristas missions as you can switch damage types and it can have a wicked active repping tank on it.
For more "convential" ships/fittings the Abaddon is problly the best

I liked the Apoc for solo missioning. Geddon when I have a guardian to watch my back.
Never tried the Abaddon, so can't say anything there.

I don't suggest many amarr ships if your skill in that class is below 4. Until you get BS up another lvl, you might have a look at the abaddon - it has no laser cap reduction anyhow, so it struggles with cap no matter what your amarr BS skill is. With good skills, its an amazing ship, cap issues or no. It won't be a phenomenal ship at 3 . . . but it will probably do better for you than the armageddon or apocalypse.
You don't mention controlled bursts. If you haven't got it to at least 4, you need it there before you'll get a lot of mileage out of an amarr BS.
After next patch, I think the apoc will be a lot more popular for missions . . . megapulse lasers with an extra 30%-37.5% range built in will rock.

Abaddon or Armageddon for starters, once you have to isk and skills you should take a look at a Paladin.

Nightmare of course outclasses any of the Amarr hulls, but it is, of course, a Sansha ship. Because it's not Amarr it isn't really in the scope of this thread.

All of the Amarr battleships are suitable for missions.
I don't know what people have against the Apoc really. At BS5 the Abaddon has 25% more resists and 25% more damage (before modules) but considering the amount of cap modules the Abaddon has to fit to become half-way sustainable the Apoc catches up. The Apoc can easily fit 2xHeatsinks and with that you get more damage than a 0-1 heatsink Abaddon. If you're at BS4 I see even less reason to use the Abaddon. Maybe if you fit faction cap/rep gear or T2 rigs the Abaddon would have more of an advantage.
This is of course with a pulse setup. I've tried a DHB-geddon setup, and that worked well, but I havn't tried out an abaddon or apoc with beams. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it.
