Can it be ******** at times? I've been logged into the game and tried to add a character, none found it said. BS. I've tried to add a character without EVE running. None found it said again. BS.
Now although I don't really mind EVEmon and am actually starting to like it enough not to uninstall it, what's the proper way to add a character so that I don't feel like such a moron..

go here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/default.asp
Get the limited access API key and usernumber. Copy it to a notepad or whatever.
Open EveMON, add new character, enter those details.
Done.

I've got that part figured out. I've been adding and removing alts like crazy.

apparently, based on forum discussion I have seen in the past, somtimes the EVE API interface has "downtimes" and will not work even though TQ is running fine.

Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

Yea, I believe I downloaded the newer version.
At one point I had it showing mini pictures of my characters in the taskbar when I moused over.
Didn't know EveMon had its own downtime.
You folks have been very helpful.

its not really EVEMons downtime its Eve's API Interface that has downtime, but not sure if its the same as the downtime for the servers or not

yeah the API goes awol every now and again -
after patches it may be down for a while [server side ones also]
also if you try and read it too fast it may refuse you for a while [not sure on timings ? once an hour]

From what I've seen at 0500 EVE time the API does not respond. Perhaps the unofficial DT for API
