Edited by: Namarus on 07/04/2004 19:29:28 Apparently auto podding players with cruise missile splash damage has been approved for use by GMs.
----------------------------------------------
To paraphrase then. (since the original was deleted)
Auto podding from killed via cruise missiles is totally acceptable. It's a bug, but still useable since all characters who get killed by it are instantly killed.
Hence since it effects everyone equally they will not reimburse for it.
oh and the typically pathetic , " we are sorry for your loss".

Hmmm GM approval of undocumented `feature` when the documentation clearly states only Torps do splash damage.
I would realy like a list of these canand cant do features as unless your aware your've been exploited fairly it are aware of this `feature` albeit not officialy documented then its hardly fair and balanced is it
I'm sure a published list would at least make for a lighter load on the overworked GM's and polaris helpers. Face it, the type of people who use these unpublished expliots are the reason for not publishing them and declaring them wrong and banishable. Instead plenty soon rediscover them and find themselves foul of undocumented features or stratergies.

Right.
So using cruise missiles and accidentally podding someone is an exploit?
Lets all stop using cruise missiles.
Yes. What a logical arguement. ----- [22:02] <Kurenin> anyhow, on a more serious note, what did you think of those ideas? [22:02] <Hammerhead> we can't do anything that requires programming

Edited by: Re'ah on 07/04/2004 19:32:11 Err exploit? So if you don't want to get banned, don't use missiles. Right!
Of course it's not an exploit.
edit: Kurenin got first. Heh.
BTW, it's not because of splash damage, it's because the missiles get too close and explode.

lets bury the post instead of fix the bug... way to go polaris
torps do splash... cruise do not. if you get splashed by a cruise missles... its a bug. he should at least get his clone cost back FFS

Actually the GM termed it as soemthign that shouldn't be in the game.
Hence why I used the phrase exploit.
Also I think you will find that this can cause cruise missiles to blow your cans too.
This was in the last CSM. Nothing to see here .... move along. |

Pretty sure this has been fixed. The last few ships I took down with cruise missiles weren't "autopodkills." And I'm using the same cruise missiles and the same setup as the time I *did* see a couple of autopodkills.
Didn't know it was still an issue. Bad bug, if so.

I thought cruise missiles had no splash damage now?
Anyways.. does that mean insta-podding with smartbombs would be an exploit too?

I don't think that would be considered an exploit either. Why should it be?
