No its not. If you have an industrial ship, it is the ONLY way to mine. Some people think that can-mining is stupid (jetissoning a can and putting all your ore in it, then picking it up with a 10000-cargo indutrial), but a note to them: without can-mining, ships would cost 2 to 3 times more as ore would be 2 to 3 times harder to get.

ok ... afaik jet can mining is not an exploit however if you do it in >0.5 sec systems then ore thieves can come steal it and you cant do anything about it since concord will come mess you up if you do. secure cans is a way to mine however you can't anchor them in sec systems >0.8. the devs are currently frowning on people strip mining the high security systems (0.8 to 1.0) because those are meant for the new players just starting out. i usually mine commons in .1 to .4 since i can blast the crap out of ore thieves and we usually have at least 1 BS for protection vs. pirates (npc and pc). that's the skinny on mining atm. only jettison your first load, then u can mine into the can which has 27500 cargo space. the only thing u have to be carfull of is ore thieves, but if u find a nice quite system then u should be abe to mine a couple hours, then dock and fit youe ship with cargo expanders and with the use of bookmarks u should have all the ore collected in a short time

yup.. jettisoned tainer is the only way..
it's also annoying to have to haul that ore in a weak azz indy in low security space.. Seems like the NPC rats always spawn faster and more aften, once you get your industrial.

I want to make more exact, I can remove items betwen opened ship cargo and floating cargo (I mean: from ship to cargo), or only betwen two floating cargos?

Yes. you can move stuff back and forth all you want. Just remember jettisoned cans time out after about an hour, so have a timer or something set up evern 45 min, for instance.

Your friend might have been confused there because jet can mining was initially not the intention of CCP for players to do. However it became so popular that CCP just looked the other way as people did it. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Also remember that people can steal your jettisoned cans... i think this is why it is not considered an exploit.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

I still don't know how a frigate can eject a can which can hold 27500m3 of cargo. Can't the frigate fit in the can? -----------------------------------------

They assemble the can, of course. Also, they might be using the "Planck" theory; since some cargo cans can hold more inside of them than their physical size.

how come you have the idea that the can is a unmodifyable structure? Look at it as a ballon, the can just grows/stretches when you put stuff in it. And yes, it is not a exploit, timer of the cans is about 2 hours, so rename the can to the eve-time (left lower corner) and mine away till its time to make a new can. When the timer is up, just make a new can and move all the ore from the old one to the new one. After you have 4/5 full cans floating in space its time to get ngry to the corp haulers who should be bringing in the stuff
