I love my GP2X. Even though I dropped it in the dunny and it hasn't worked since, it's had more playtime than my still fully-operational PSP (which I wish I had dropped into the loo instead). I was thinking of buying the new F200 model, but discovered that a number of GP community members are making a new handheld - Pandora, due in the summer for ú199. I'm not overly concerned with PS1 emulation, nor is that ZX81 keyboard lighting my fire, but I still can't help but be excited by the features on offer.
Any excited GP fans out there?

The GP32 and GP2X were both Korean handhelds, which sold well in Europe (UK especially) and are loved for the fact that they run emulation software so well. There were/are some original games for both machines (there was one called "Die Hard with Infinite Stairs" - best game title ever, imo), but they are basically mini-video game arcades/media players.
When my GP2X tumbled from pocket into wetgrave, it took 3000 classic games with it

Well, the thing is, if the Pandora ends up being as good as it's feature-set alludes to, the GP machines are obsolete.
As for why I preferred my GP2X to any other handheld:
SD cards for storage rather than propriety media (UMD etc) - Easy transfer of movie files (good playback too) Massive homebrew / emulation scene (Awesome MAME, Genesis, SNES emulation - thousands of games... all on one SD card, ofc. TV-out
On the minus side:
Only a handful of original games It's not waterproof

I've seen a second hand one of these for sale in a computer games shop in Colchester. Think it was ú30 or something close. Seeing as I have on my third drive all the stuff I need to make my comp an emulator I'll stick to that thx
But hell yeah, looks good to me

Hadn't heard of it until your post, but am about 2 beers away from placing a credit card order for an F-200!
Primarily for Mame, with mpeg4 / h264 on the move a major added bonus.
