Eventy One Magellan Exploration and Survey	Posted - 2008.03.08 02:36:00 - [1] I believe I heard that CCP was still committed to bringing the Jove into the game. Since the changes to ISD, certainly Jove content has been less, and it was actually nice to have "Jove" such as Nebulai. in the Jove Empire Channel. My question is to the Devs (or I would have asked in the general forums) - is there any word on whether CCP is committed to advancing the Jove storyline? There's been talk since at least 2004, but honestly, the community of Jove interested players are starting to lose hope that any of this is going to come about. I'd very much appreciate (as I'm sure others would too) some word from a Dev on whether advances are being made, or if they've been side tracked by other projects within CCP. That mysterious bright star is being removed in the upcoming "boost" patch but perhaps that has something to do with introducing the Jove.

To be honest, the last thing EvE needs is another race to play and another set of 'super ships' to tilt balance again. The 4 we have is good enough really, and the pace with which 'new content' is demanded is too raverous. Slow down, enjoy the game and lets be content for awhile. ----
Paracidic Infection	Posted - 2008.03.10 05:07:00 - [6] Back in the day they released red shards(?) that were of Jove descent, They should allow these, while in your ship's cargo bay, enter Jove space. That being said, if a pirate killed ya on your way to that area of space, that would be the one item that doesn't get destroyed and always drops in your wreck.

I personally have no preference whether they are playable or not, however look at their technology. How long can CCP continue to deprive us of this most amazing work? My fear, of course, is that it seems what pushed the Jovian storyline forward was ISD. The demise of ISD has exposed that interest in the Jove has largely been a feature of the player based, and not so much in the game development circles, since the Jovian storyline has all but ceased to receive attention. I was hoping that some dev would look at this thread and reassure us that indeed the Jovian game content was still very much on their radar, and that it would be worth it; our wait would be rewarded or something like that. CCP has delivered on many of their promises (such as the Rorqual), and so their word is good. But have projects like ambulation dropped the Jove off their todo list? I hope, my hope is not in vain. Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris	Posted - 2008.03.10 20:20:00 - [10] my personal thoughts on this is that it will be a very long time before we see the jove come into the game as a playable race. the technology is ment ot be sooo much more supirior than that of the other races as has been demonstrated before that if introduced "balanced" would seem contradictory to the whole storyline (unless of course the other empires osme how maraculusly cought up in usch a short space of time) what i would like to see though is maybe them apearing as an uberd up NPC faction that starts roaming aorund there boarders insanely hard to destroy with maybe slight chances of dropping BPC's or fully intact peices of there technology.. though this is just a thought for anything that comes out this year wich i seriusly doubt tbh i belive the 4 races we have is good enough for the time being and i am very happy with what there is now but haveing the jove come into a bit more of the storyline would be nice to see ^_^ Sig space reclaimed in the name of me -courtesy of Tiggy ([email protected])
