It has been awhile since my last sermon. I have been busy with affairs of Empire and Industry and my time of religious reflection has been limited. Recently though I traveled to New Caldari with some associates to attend a conference on capital ship construction techniques. While there I had the opportunity to meet several Caldari industrialists. I like the Caldari. While not Amarrian they are more willing to see the true position of Amarr and treat us accordingly. I appreciate that level of recognition. Apparently a level not attainable by Minmatar beast or Gallente deviant.
Anyway as the conference ended and I was escorted back to my ship by my staff and bodyguards I noticed an old Iteron industrial ship being loaded with scrap. The crew, all of them Gallente and Minmatar, were dressed poorly and as a whole they looked very undisciplined. They loitered around the dock area smoking and drinking cheap spirits while their ship was loaded. I noticed with some disgust the open fraternization between the captain and a young Minmatar woman who was at his side. Apparently the Gallente know nothing of modesty.
Heading back to Amarr space I gave thought to what I had seen. Caldari station, well kept, clean, orderly, polite Caldari officers and dockmaster, then these heathens and deviants clearly out of place. So typical of their kind.
But I do not give up hope. You see God will find all of those souls eventually. The deviant Gallente and the heathen Minmatar. Time will pass and one day they will stand before God in judgement. What will they say? How will they answer for a life of sin and decadence? I can only imagine what God will say to them as he looks down and passes judgement sending them to places most unpleasent.
You see the Gallente can not run forever. They enjoy the "democracy" and "freedom" they extoll to us all but the reality is much different. Look beneath the scenes and you see a culture in decay, moral decay and waste. This is the Gallente Federation today.
Often I hear people claim the Amarr Empire is "dying" or is "corrupt". The truth is the Amarr Empire, led by the words of God Himself is the only hope. While often tested the Amarr Empire stands tall and righteous in our mission. The Gallente on the other hand stand with hands raised, but are they raised in celebration or terror and fear? I believe the latter.
Living in a culture of sin like the Gallente must be a tremendous burdon. I can't even imagine the sin and perversion tossed at their youth throughout their lives. Children walking to school past adult fleshshops and xxx theatres. While Amarr children pass churches and offices of morality the Gallente youth pass by the very essence of sin. They are a society lost.
But there is hope. While the Gallente will never rise to the level of the Amarr they can seek God and hope. Port Sanctuary recently transported it's 150,000th Gallente Initiate through the gates. Food delivery services and rescue programs are in force bringing food and supplies to the hungry and medicine to those in drug withdrawl.
Yes the light of God will shine on all eventually. Will you let it shine on you now in hope and prayer? Or will you wait and let it be the light of judgement on your sad sinful life? To the citizens of this corrupt federation I say only this.
The choice is yours. Don't waste the opportunity to find God and truth.

I am pleased to hear of Port Sanctuary's continued success, perhaps I should stop buying slaves in the Empire and encourage my associates to aid me in founding a similar project.
All in all a rather typical speech from you, though I enjoyed noting that you consider the Gallente and Minmatar worth saving while the Caldari are somehow undeserving of Amarrian salvation.

It has been awhile since my last sermon, I have been busy torturing and enslaving innocent people. Recently though I traveled to New Caldari with some associates to attend a conference on capital ship construction techniques. While there I had the opportunity to meet several Caldari industrialists. I like the Caldari, so we will enslave them last, but they will be enslaved. While not Amarrian they are more willing to see the true position of Amarr and treat us accordingly as long as we can meet the price. I appreciate that level of recognition. Apparently a level not attainable by Minmatar beast or Gallente deviant, they are not as easily impressed.
Anyway as the conference ended and I was escorted back to my ship by my staff and bodyguards I noticed an old Iteron industrial ship being loaded with scrap. The crew, all of them Gallente and Minmatar, were dressed poorly and as a whole they looked very undisciplined (no whip scars). They loitered around the dock area smoking and drinking cheap spirits while their ship was loaded. Heading back to Amarr space I gave thought to what I had seen. Caldari station, well kept, clean, orderly, polite Caldari officers and dockmaster, then these heathens and deviants clearly out of place. So typical of their kind. Oddly enough they were treated the same by the caldari as we were. They must have had money to. I can only imagine what God will say to them as he looks down and passes judgement sending them to places most unpleasent,I have to imagine, as god does not realy exist. You see the Gallente can not run forever. They enjoy the "democracy" and "freedom" they extoll to us all but the reality is much different. Look beneath the scenes and you see a culture in decay, moral decay and waste. Living in a culture of sin like the Gallente must be a tremendous burdon, how can two people, live to gether in peace and mutal respect? And have so much fun doing it?. I can't even imagine the sin and perversion tossed at their youth throughout their lives. Children walking to school past adult fleshshops and xxx theatres. While Amarr children pass churches and offices of morality, where human beings are being beaten and tortured, for haveing the ability to think on their own. the Gallente youth pass by the very essence of sin. They are a society lost, but we will find them so we can beat some holiness into them, and having cheap slave labor makes it all worthwhile. But there is hope. While I have not attended your sermons or know you personally Archbishop, your reputation would indicate you in fact mean well. Even though there are many who do not trust you, most of them trust no Amarr. I may not agree with your efforts but you at least seem to give people the choice to follow you or not.
I would like to ask you an honest question. Why do you choose to focus your efforts on the Gallente and Minmitar when there are Amarr who do not heed your own sermons?
A close Caldari friend of mine was raised by a Minmitar servent of the Amarr people. She no longer lives among the Amarr due to the treachery of one of your people but during the time she lived there she noted some slave masters among you that would take slave women as mistresses against their will.
While I feel it is important to teach people the potential dangers of their ways, how can you expect to teach people who grew up under such different philosophies your ways when some of your own people do not follow them? ____

Not all Gallente are deviants, just as not all Amarr are God-fearing.
Your time away from preaching has affected your quality of sermon, I think. I hope that you can pick it up soon.

If you're lucky and not sent straight into a life of slaver labour, perhaps you'll be granted the 'honour' of becoming a crew member aboard one of their fine Apocalypse-class Battleships.
I wouldn't ask too many questions about the track record of such ships, though. ...

Yes Port Sanctuary has been a great success in helping Gallente Initiates find the path of God. I am pleased to announce expansion plans at the Port also including various factory modules producing items which will be donated to the Amarrian loyalists to help in the defense of our holy Empire.
Likewise our sponsorship effort of the Matari Relief Fund and the soon to be opened Port Matari Hope brings us closer to our goal of uniting all charity efforts in both Gallente and Minmatar space under the flags of God and Peace.

On a more serious note, I'd point out that Archbishop most likely does not talk about converting Caldari citizens because most of us are well on the way there: spiritual, hard-working, and duty-oriented. What's there not to like? --------

I've never understood their equivalency of sex with being somehow immoral or bad.
Exactly what's wrong "fraternizing" with the opposite gender?
Do Amarrians not fall in love and have children?
Were we put in this universe only to work and pray?
I can think of no greater morality than spending quality time with another person.
You know what's immoral?
People living their lives lonely and alone is immoral.
People whipping themselves in pennance for their natural human desires is immoral.
What do you think, you're some kind of robot?
That's a denial of your own humanity. And that's....immoral.

Edited by: Lief Siddhe on 10/03/2008 03:01:05 I can't understand why Amarrian religious fundamentalists always presume that "finding God" has anything to do with their religion.
On the presumption that God created all of us, and there was a way to "find" God whatever it may be, what makes you so goddamn arrogantly sure that the only way to do that is through reading some books some of you wrote XY years ago and listening to the drivel of your priests, listening to your sermons, praying in your churches, while at the same time you treat other races as unworthy even though you are just as human as everybody else?
Pompous gits, for a lack of a better word.
P.S. Just to say, I believe Faith is a great thing. But I hate Religion. As my father once said: "The Amarrian Church is simply a corporation with a long history."
--- Beneath all of our differences there's a single bond between every living Gallentean that makes us hard as diamond: a love of freedom. |

And how did this devout Amarrian suggest you meet women?
Arranged marriage?
Finding one you like and dragging her to your ship?
No, you talk to her, usually in public. Sometimes while loading scrap metal into your Iteron.

One is never alone with God. Being of faith and obedience the word of God is like a warm blanket on a cold night. Life is never lonely when the Lord is your guide. No my dear Mr. Cipher it is you I believe have the lonely life. Life without faith and hope. Life without a future.
But the Lord has spoken on this and the Minmatar have felt His wrath for their impure sinful ways.
"Casting his sight on his realm, the Lord witnessed The cascade of evil, the torrents of war. Burning with wrath, He stepped down from the Heavens To judge the unworthy, To redeem the pure. -The Scriptures, Revelation Verses 2:12"
Likewise the Gallente are impure and deviant. Their evil of decadence and self-importance infests space bringing a culture of dependence and addiction to the Eve cluster which must be stopped.
Who knows what the future will bring. Will the Gallente find the path of God and salvation as I ask here or will God inevitably step down from Heaven once again to judge the unworthy as the holy scriptures indicate he has done in the past time and time again.
I would hope the Gallente see the need for God... The true God not some misguided self-created God they develop themselves. The true God of Amarr. A God only the Amarr can show them. They should come to the Amarr and ask for guidance and direction. The Amarr are the chosen and can give the Gallente what they so need to bring them to a life of service and faith.
It is their only hope.

Archbishop, you're, what, in your seventies? It's time to stop believing in invisible friends, and if you're hearing voices in your head, perhaps it's time to put aside the pilot's liscence and go off with those nice young men in the clean white coats. ----- "I am prepared to meet my maker; whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." |

Summary:
My God is bigger than yours.
Amarr > All
...most insightful. Heideran and Doriam are no doubt rolling in their graves at the gross ignorance, intolerance, and lack of tact displayed by some of the most public faces of the Empire. Few have worked so hard to undo all that these men, who according to scripture are chosen by God himself, achieved as the esteemed "Archbishop".
And it seems the Caldari don't get it, you see, duty, honor, spirituality, none of it means squat. If you don't follow the Amarrian God you will be reclaimed. If you make yourself useful enough you will be reclaimed last. I imagine the Caldari have the sense to simply integrate the mega-corporations into the Empire and take up the faith before it comes to that but still there is no greater threat to their independence, society, traditions, or culture than the Empire.
There was a time when one could begin to think the reclaiming had taken a new course, one of diplomacy, understanding, and leading by example. It appears those days are long gone.

It's amazing how wrong the Amarr faith is. The very existence of the Idama should be proof enough that Intaki faiths fall closer to home. Reincarnation, god, and heaven are something the Amarr aren't anyway close to understandings. The Gallente are not depraved, they are free, the Gallente are not far from god, they are just far, far away from YOUR god.
There might of been a more civilized way to include my opinion into this debate, so you can forgive me, but I just wanted to use the same argument the Amarr do. I found God in my children's eyes.
Who says you can't have everything? Who says you can't have faith and a good career and a good family and an interesting life?
Why do any of these things have to be mutually exclusive.
I think people run into problems when they focus too much on one thing, either on too much religion, too much partying, too much working, etc.
For your own mental health I really recommend you take some time away from religion, Mr Archbishop.

Captain Iaar do the words goading and incitement mean nothing to you? I'm not claiming for one second that Archbishop has the authority to declare war in the Empires name.
And whats this of a "second reclaimation", you stopped the first one all of sudden? Sorry folks church is closed.
What I am claiming is that we as pod-pilots do have influence, we can inspire, we can goad, we can incite, we have a growing impact on the planet bound populations and with that and our growing power an impact on their governments. While Archbishops remarks are probably not engineered to do so, they undoubtedly encourage feelings of hate for both Amarrians and Gallenteans towards each other and to a lesser extent impact others as well. It's hate-mongering deliberate or not, it's undiplomatic, and it's quite obviously insulting to those who are targeted by such remarks.
The Gallente already know they are not in what you consider "God's light" they don't need reminding via such blunt and counter-productive speeches as this one. Would it not be better to show people that you are right, to demonstrate that you are blessed, and to lead by example than to actively push them further from the faith. By so discouraging people are you not condemning souls to hell denying them salvation?
