If you wish to purchase a cd key so you can continue to play eve after your account expires, orfor those wishing to start a second account then www.play.com are currently selling the eve cd for ú9.99 inc posting and packing as an easter deal. Not sure when it expires so you'd better get your skates on!

Not sure about the 10-day trial, but the 3-day trial that was on the cover CD of PC Gamer came with a CD key. I didn't have to enter another one to continue my subscription beyond the trial. Continuing cost me ú13.80 (19.95 Euros). Play.com's price sounds like a good deal for a second account or for a new player, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of starting again after the trial to save ú3.80. (There doesn't seem to be an option to extend your trial period with a retail copy, though maybe you could petition it).
Hmm, come to think of it, I'm not sure how long you get with the retail version. Is it just a month, or longer?

I thought you could extend your trial with a retail cdkey, that was my whole reason for posting this.
Ah well....

You can just log into account management and extend your 10 day trial for < 15 euros for 30 days, not need for retail :)

There is a very good reason for getting the retail version cheaply: the EVE download is huge, prohibitively so for anyone who doesn't have broadband. I for one would never have tried it if I hadn't have got the trial on a magazine cover disc. It was well worth posting about to draw it to the attention of prospective players (particularly as EVE plays so well on dial-up), but not for extending an existing trial.

This is probably the only game I can think of where you can't use a retail cdkey to upgrade your account from a trial one.
Anywho, this would be an ideal opportunity for anyone thinking of a second account(like me). As a bonus, you save a couple of quid over the $19.99 account setup/30 day gametime fee and you also get the cd, box and manual(however outdated they are )

How much is eve monthly ? After the $19.95, is it $19.95 a month after the initial charge of $19.95 ?
