Im not in the least bit interweb saavy so this perked me as a little odd. Is this what ccp was talking about with the phishing attempts? This char (edit= my char) has been in 0.0 for the last few weeks so its not the usual isk spamming that one sees in empire.
I run a few api programs like EFT, eve-mon etc. Do I have anything to be worried about? How would someone get hold of a name as random as mine? Would this be generated spam?
What is the chances of something risky downloading into my pc if I actually visited this site, given normal firewalls and antivirus running?
Just throwing it out there as a semi alert/ semi wth post.

nope- i thought id ask here first to see if it was omfgpwnurpc able. Like I said im a tech nub and too impoverished to pay someone else to fix what I may quite easily break.

Same here as well on my other account early in the week. It made me worry enough to run a virus scan and change passwords on my PC incase someone was up to something dodgy on my account.
I deleted the mail and watched for anything odd like someone suddenly sending me several hundred mil isk for no clear reason but nothing so far. Not really sure if it's something worth petitioning since it came from a one day old alt.

Would it be possible to a rough hint towards what the URL was? or to be more exact; did it look like it was meant to fool people into believing they where visiting eve-online.com or was it more of a general RMT site?

If it was sent by a one day old character that alone is a very good reason to petition it. (Trial accounts are, afaik, commonly used to send spam with as they got full eve-mail acces and can be recycled easily)
