2 years ago i had a 14 day try out and now i find out from my buddy that steam is giving away 21 day tryouts, wtf ccp thats bs that people who dont use steam are forced to only have 14 days where as you have people using steam who get 21 days can you please explane how this is fair?

uh..what are u complaining about? arent u a 2 yr old char? why do u care about 7 days difference when ur far past that kind of thing?
But neway i spose its unfair, maybe not enough ppl where joining coz in 14 days u cant get far in eve, so there allowing a certain number of ppl to have 21 day trials by using the stream/non-stream reason, rather than giving every1 21 day trials incase it doesnt really work and they lose money?

Chill out, its just a week of play, which honestly isn't all that much.
In fact, you could just put a long skill on to train that takes a week or so just before your account expires. Your skill will keep on training for that week while your account is inactive.
Then, at the end of the week, re-activate your account. Voila, 1 week of free training time.
Of course, you can't play during that week, but really... it's only one week...

OMG I was walking down the street and suddenly found a 25 cents coin... Why??? Why???? Why couldn't I have found a 50 cents coin instead!!! Oh, unfair life, why is all the world against me? Oh mighty lord who dwells beyond the plutonic abyss, oh eternal demons who carry the destiny of manking on your shoulders, why do you insist on making my life unfair?
Then I went almost crawling to the forsaken place I call home, with tears in my eyes and a burning pain of injustice in my chest, only to find that two years ago I had been given a promotion for 14 days and now people can get the same for 21!!! Whyyyy whyyyy!!! I have "paided" for 7 more days than those people! Then a revealing truth came to me as natural as you breath every day.... Are we all "morons" ?????

No, I did not have USA in mind. In Argentina we have a .25 coin ... I don't know if such denomination exist for coins in USA, but for the dollar, as well.

All sillyness aside; is it possible to get a 21 day trial for someone who is not using steam, as I am having a friend try out EVE and I want to give him as much time to get the game to know as possible.

Not sure. But in the worst case scenario, I'm pretty sure your friend can create a STEAM account for free and sign-up from there. Once the account is created, STEAM is no longer needed.

The extra week was probably given in lieu of a manual. Too bad, 'cuz I can't help but think a simple pdf file describing the interface (or a blatant link to it if it exists) would earn more customers.
I'd love to play this game, if I could figure out how.
The tutorial, which seems like it should at least help with this, stopped functioning for me at about the time it asked me to find some pirate targets that weren't in my Overview. If this happens to you, whatever you do, don't minimize the Overview, because (judging solely by my experience) you won't find the command to restore it (if it exists), and nobody playing is likely to tell you where it is.

I'm sure someone said this before, but I remember when there wasn't a free trial at all, and then when the only free trial was the "buddy program" and it was like 3 days. You people have it so good these days!

If I have it "so good," then CPP needs to negatively review (and perhaps fire) its entire marketing department. This game requires more than just a Steam download to attract new customers, despite the promise hidden behind its obtuse interface.
