Hey everyone, I tried jumping into Jita around 1000 EVE Time, the screen froze and my game crashed. I reboot, I can enter character selection, and it begins to load my character, but then goes black screen and brings me back to Character section screen. I sa nyone elso locked out of the game because they were in Jita.

It's a sunday, Jita is closed on sundays.

YES! Yes it should be closed. or atleast a limit of entering, just give an early 'avoid Jita' warning and hten queue the people up outside the gate, have a max of say 500 peeps in local and be done with it.
If u wanna go to Jita, u will have to suffer the consequences of having to wait in a holdingpattern on the other side of the gates.

well if jita is fully booked, try oursulaert iii - federation navy testing facilities (essence). it's just a few jumps out and has a marked that is quite competitive to jita.

So after DT do you think I will be able to access my chacter who is also stuck in Jita or is it petition time. Hey CCP find my character please. I feel for you OP, I try to avoid Jita also, but I had a massive shopping list

File a stuck petition and you'll be moved.
No matter how loud "DON'T GO TO JITA ON A SUNDAY!" is shouted people still go to Jita.
If you're a new guy or gal and didn't no that don't worry. Just remember not to do it again.

Jita is usually fine after DT for quite some time, even on Sundays. In evenings it starts to suck when the player count exceeds roughly 750. The real problem is that there must be memory leak or something (I am no techie so bear with me if memory leak is the wrong term), since after the peak hours, when the pop count goes back to more normal levels, it retains the suckiness from earlier, and it gets worse the closer we get to the next DT, even if player levels drop.
So basically the best time to go to Jita is the european afternoon.
