In a few months, Dust 514 will be launched, and has the potential to change the mechanics of Sov warfare, but I ask, how man of the CSM candidates throwing their hat into the ring will even be able to experience this first hand. If you are a CSM candidate without a PS3 then you are going to be at a disadvantage in dealing with the issues that it might raise. We've seen it in the past where CSM members have made comments and suggestions and then demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge in the field. Remember the 'surprise' expressed by CSM members who didn't realise that ABC ores were available in class 1 wormholes.
So, who here actually owns a PS3?

We need CSM candidates well versed in Eve mechanics, as we depend on them to teach CCP about how Eve works. DUST will prolly be no different. |

I went and purchased a PS3 the minute they announced the Dust 514 trials. I'm registered for the beta, anxiously awaiting my key!
This is a great question for all the candidates, I'm glad you asked. Being able to monitor the Dust 514 / EvE link and provide feedback throughout the Dust launch and the first year will be critical, and I hope the other CSM7 candidates will all be able to participate as well! |

I've owned a PS3 for quite some time. My son loves the LEGO games (okay, me too).
As of this moment, no CSM 6 member that I'm aware of has a Beta key for Dust 514, has seen Dust 514 in action, nor are we aware of any specifics on how it will 'link' with EVE Online. Hopefully we will all find out more at FanFest and CCP will make it a point to be more open about all this with CSM 7.

The lego games are highly enjoyable, no shame in liking them. I tend to play Rock band and Rocksmith, hoping that perhaps I may continue to improve my guitar skills. I'm generally not a fan of console based FPS games, but will make an effort to look at Dust.
So that's 1 existing CSM member and 1 Candidate on the list.

In this RPS interview CCP specifically mentions consulting the CSM about DUST features:

So, I specifically ask, which CSM members actually own a PS3, who will be able to have first hand experience. The CSM minutes have repeatedly revealed members who are ignorant of certain gameplay features because their lack of experience in the field, Disingenuous comments in the Minutes undermine the players opinion of the CSM.

As soon as CCP sends me a beta key, I will buy a PS3. As Seleene said, we haven't seen anything about DUST recently.
