What do you guys make of these changes to the market interface? tbh I'm not really excited, at all.
Seems like more of CCP helping carebears be carebears instead of helping traders be traders.

a bunch of filters basically. Nothing to help the dedicated traders whatsoever imo*
things like:
-filter modules I can't use -filter ships I can't use -filter orders by sec status of the system they're at -filter orders by % deviation from the region average price
*There was one beneficial change I guess, something like the ability to have advanced orders retain your preferences. I assume this means you can set the duration and range "permanently" for all new market orders you create.

I seen the updated UI, looked handy as to help me fit ships for pew pew, and the folders for the 'hotlist' will be very helpful for the trader types -- Sig Under Construction |

Quickbar folders is something I've been advocating for a year now, glad they finally put them in.
Unfortunately it seems they weren't as interested in adding saved searches to contracts, which would have been even more useful due to the tediousness of changing all those options in contracts over and over.

I'd say this particular change does more harm than good to everyone who tries to use it.
Regional average is horribly inaccurate on many items and easily manipulated.

Can you smell the profit yet? I'm sure a lot of people can.

Edited by: Vested Interest on 13/03/2008 03:53:30 "Remember Settings" on new market orders is pretty sweet, it will take a bit before I break the old habits though--still manually setting my range just by force of habit.
Quickbar folders very cool, not sure if it'll get me to use the quickbar more though. Every time my client crashes and wipes my quickbar I swear I'll never use it again.
The filters, not so much. Noob mode for the market imo, but I can see how they'll be useful for people just buying stuff to fit a ship.
Filter by % deviation from region average is just useless, surprised they even bothered. "Filter orders under mineral value" would be more useful imo.
Now I want them to work on some of the trader-specific stuff in this thread: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=668020

Updating production spreadsheets just became a whole lot faster :)

Quite annoyingly they have added totally useless options to your skill manager. You now have the option to "buy this type" "add to market quickbar" and "view market details." If the skill is on my skill sheet then I obviously already know it and thus don't need to buy it. This just clutters the interface...I don't suppose any of you know how to remove it?

If you have a look at the skill sheet options, you can actually display untrained skills. I suppose it's there for newbies to understand how to get new skills quicker.

For those of us that have been playing the game for more than a week and don't want a bunch of useless junk cluttering our interface, how do we remove it?

Indeed, such as this silly autocomplete thing, it needs a disable toggle. --

So far I like the remember setting on orders, other features seems to be useful only for buyers...
Market quickbar folders are cool too, but sorting doesn't work + old entries were deleted it seems. Together with all windows settings.

The change to market quickbar sorting has just killed my order update process... please put it back as it was.

you are not alone with that problem
Though adding folders to market quickbar is quite a thing. people have to get used to all those changes and everything will work out just fine

In windows you go to Start => Settings => Control Panel => Add or Remove Programs => browse to EVE-Online and remove it. The most effective way to clear your Eve-online experience of unnecessary UI options... ;-)

Yeah, the lack of quickbar sorting is really annoying me. How can a respectfull programmer just "leave that out" and still say "Go!" to the patch? What are you thinking?
Seems to me the table lists must be modulair, so why no sorting? Because of maps? Odd and annoying, I am looking for seconds now to find an item.
