I'm completely new to moon mining and want to get into it, so I've started going around scanning moons in nice looking 0.0-0.3 systems. Haven't scanned many systems yet, and the best moon I've found so far just has Titanium at abundance 3. Is this good enough to set up my first POS? If so, what modules would you recommend I put on that POS?
And is it ever worth it to set up a mining POS at a moon with only gases?

Generally, no. If you are setting up a POS and the extra structures needed for mining and storing the material doesn't require you to upgrade to a bigger POS then it can be a smart move though.

Abundance currently means nothing, each hour the POS will mine 100 units, divide that by the cost of the POS fuel and you have your answer, currently it's around 800 isk (give or take depending on sov/fitting/faction towers etc) per unit to mine, so alot of things are not worth mining.
Gasses you would need at least to set up a medium tower and do reactions, and then it varies from not worth it to just worth it depending on current supply/demand.
It's only really worth it if you get something at least selling for say 1500 isk/unit or you want to have that POS up anyway.

See my guide linked below, it should help work out which moons are worth mining on their own. Salvaging guide:moon materials guide |

Prices of those materials have in some cases been slashed by two-thirds and others quadrupled or more since you took those values.
Invention really changed them, along with the new ships.
