Edited by: Petyr Baelich on 11/03/2008 04:28:18 Looking for an improved shuttle platform I can use for jaunts through lowsec with a low SP character. T1 frigates only. Emphasis on agility, align/warp speed and survivability. I'm thinking maybe a repubic fleet firetail with: t2 I-stab 2x named WCS
Named MWD Named Med. Shield Extender Named Passive EM Amp.
Prototype Cloak (not enough CPU to fit Imp. cloak, but will that really matter if all I'm doing is running gates?)
If I want to get really crazy I can put 3x Polycarbs on it, but that's a lot of isk to put on a shuttle-replacement frigate. :) Any suggestions, improvements?

Is all that really necessary?
A t1 interceptor frig with t1 inertial stabs and nanofiber structures will align/warp fast enough to blow through a gatecamp.

Edited by: I SoStoned on 11/03/2008 04:40:08 Depends on your race, of course.
Minmatar: Slasher Caldari: Condor Amarr: Executioner Gallente: Imicus
You can always use a faction frig, of course, but that's a tasty treat for lowsec pirates.
Fit I-stabs in low and go go go. And fit passive shield/armor mods to survive those nasty smartbomb camps. If you get caught in a smartbomb chain, tho, expect to wake up in a station.
Go T2, get an interceptor, they're pretty difficult to catch and it only takes another week to train (some startup chars can fly them right out of char creation).

Yeah, but I want something I can use with an alt and very minimal training... like a week's worth to get hull upgrades 4 and cloaking 1.

Wha?
I said T1 interceptor frigate...e.g. slasher, atron, etc. You don't need cloaking...

Vigil w/ 3 Overdrives is the fastest T1 Frig
For an alt, chose a Minmatar (any bloodline) Military Special force he/she will get Minmatar frigate 4.
Note Vigil bonus : Special Ability: 5% ship velocity per level

Or, if you don't like Minmatar, choose Amarr. The Executioner is pretty fast too, but only 2+2+2 slots. |

I use a Raptor with 2x T2 i-stabs 1x WCS, T2 small cap battery, T2 MWD, T2 small extender and a cloak for when safespotted, I use it for making bookmarks as well as scouting and running high value goods from A to B. Its pretty hard to catch the only thing you really need to fear are bubbles and smartbombs.
You could put pretty much the same fitting on any inty. ========================================= A Man chooses, a slave obeys. |

Do istabs boost align/warp times more than nanofibers?
If I have 3 lows, is the best setup to have 3 istab? or maybe 2 nano and 1 istab? |
