Before the patch I could hit ALT and there would be a box on my ship and all the moons would light up. now...nothing.
also it seems I cannot use the same hot keys to close my scanner that I used to open it with anymore.

Yeah I noticed this too, this is going to make directional scanning MUCH more difficult

Same deal here. I hate hate HATE this change.
I've heard something about alt-z supposed to be doing something similar but it doesn't. I want a way to display moon positions in space!

Edited by: Ron Wright on 13/03/2008 14:20:51 Take a look at the patchnotes and you get your answer: http://myeve.eve-online.com/updates/patchnotes.asp?patchlogID=161
Quote:
In order to quickly show all brackets you can use the default key combination alt-z which toggles all brackets on and off. The alt key no longer shows all brackets.

Alt+z doesn't do anything, manually switching brackets on shows no icon for moons only for belts which is crap.

can we get a quick definitive answer, the ability to not see moons in space, was nerfed? is that correct or is this a UI thing we have to turn on?

Edited by: Emerald Cortess on 13/03/2008 17:02:57 Change this back, CCP. For god's sake ... CHANGE it back!
I used to be a good scout and I was able to find my targets fast and hold them until my gang arrives.
But with this change, it's just not the same anymore!
I presume u didn't know how important that 'alt'-key-function was for many players when u changed it. But i really hope u will change it back.
And btw.: Alt-Z isn't a help, since it seems that it does nothing and its 2 keys (I hate it)
Best regards Emerald Cortess

/signed. This has to be put back in. using alt-z does not reproduce the previous alt key stroke. for me the alt key is very important for scannign at it allows the little box on your ship to help align for the 5 deg scan.
using alt-z does not put the box on your ship.

Yeah... that's the thing i miss the most (although i even couldn't name it). And one thing more just happend: I tried to scan around a little and clicked about a little beside a belt, caught a moon and almost warped to it.
Is there any possibility to show moons in space?

Yea i've noticed this too, it's terrible if you want to be able to scan accurately and fast...

Great, now make it that much harder to put my small/medium bubbles in place :( I loved it that you added a gun to the Ferox, so please fix this and keep your Win!

Funny thing is i read on the "Tip of the Day" at the character selection screen.
"While in space you can hold down the 'alt' key to reveal hard to see structures and objects"

I have come to the conclusion after playing for 3 years that CCP's quality assurance and testing is a myth. It's make believe. Non-existant. Fantasy.
No you can't have my stuff.

Under Exploit Fixes:
Quote: Pilots can no longer have multiple overlapping scan probes scanning simultaneously.
So this is deliberate.
Under User Interface:
Quote: In order to quickly show all brackets you can use the default key combination alt-z which toggles all brackets on and off. The alt key no longer shows all brackets.
However, Alt-Z seems to be broken. Remapping this shortcut doesn't help either.

Edited by: Progeny Soames on 14/03/2008 19:01:25 When I read about this issue, being a scout, this frightened me. But I've been mucking about with the overview settings and this might actually be better, dunno, still need to work out a few things.
To get your own ship bracketed, select it and a nice big box will appear.
Next set up a new tab in your overview by right clicking an existing tab and select add tab.
In the new tab, (mine's named scan), set your overview filters to how you need them, depending on your m.o.
Also set the bracketing to how you need them, again depending on your m.o. Alt-Z should now start working depending on what you have it set too.
I'm guilty of never reading the patch notes so I'm not sure about all this new stuff, but I'm beginning to think there are some nice options available for scouts in the overview.
As I said at the start of the post, still need to run a few tests and get it working for me before I start swinging from the chandeliers.

Edited by: Silros on 16/03/2008 20:51:49 Edited by: Silros on 16/03/2008 20:50:49 Not sure it's related to the patch (I just started the game), but in the last few days I've had a problem with jumping through gates. 1 time from Emraur to Lossa and 2 times from Perimeter - Jita. All 3 times I had to wait for next day's Server restart to be able to log on to my character. I just got stuck again jumping to Jita, so no more fun for me tonight :-(
Anyone else get this problem?

Guys, if you learn how to use the new 'bracket' overview settings - this is a non-issue.
Using the bracket configuration options allow you to setup perfect 'scanning' overviews - including showing moons + astoriod belts.

I don't want to have to configure stuff, I want to be able to press alt and just see it all.
