I'm attempting to leave a trail of breadcrumbs so others can get thier client working.
It seems that ''/end /LUA:OFF'' is looking for/saving config files in <EvEDIR>/Settings instead of <EvEDIR>/cache/Setttings after this patch.

Confirmed. All my setting for my accounts have been lost and the new settings are going to the OP location.

Copying the dir from cache/settings to settings seems to work fine to get your old settings back. Arrow Capital Ship Sale |

Confirmed too. Would have been nice if they got auto copied or something into there, instead of a silent new feature. Annoying but good to be able to resolve it.

Also worth noting is that now, with /end /LUA:OFF disabled, settings that are stored in the C:\Documents and Settings folder are now stored in separate folders for each copy of Eve, instead of trying to use the same settings for every copy.

Why is it that CCP cannot issue a patch without buggering up the settings each and every time?

The /END LUA: OFF has been disabled because it was causing issues for players who used it without knowing how to manage a cache location not in the standard place. This was never meant to be used for anything other than testing purposes.
If you had your cache settings in the default location, your cache migrated to the new location without problems.
What is good about the new system is that you now have a seperate cache folder for each install. This way you can easily clear your Singularity cache without clearing files from Tranquility.

Not necessarily true. I'm a noob with a stock Eve install less than a month old. I'm still trying to get my settings sorted out, so I wouldn't call this "without problems."
I realize that this is probably just a reading comprehension issue, but where the deuce is the new settings location post-patch?

Excuse me, but we were forced to use the "/END LUA: OFF" switch if we used more than one client because of the programmers lack of foresight, and lack of Q&A testing. Telling us its our fault we loose setting becasue we utilized the only method to run multiple clients is asinine.
All you had to say was "Unfortunatly the "/END LUA: OFF" switch prevented proper transfer of settings, here is how you can try to resolve the issue..."
Instead you come out appearing to blast the players. If English is not your native tounge, I apoligise, but CCP needs to treat the customer with respect. Lately we have been getting less than we should.
Additionally, some of us need to be able to keep our setting with the application. What dont you guys get about that? If you play EvE on a portable HD, your have to re-configure your settings every time without the "/END LUA: OFF"

Ive run multiple clients, up to 3 at a time, without ever using the LUA switch, and never had a problem. So I wouldnt say it was required.
As for playing on a portable HD, thats your choice. You can copy your setting onto the HD and take them with you, and restore them on each new comp you move to....At a certain point they have to draw the line and say the client works like this, and not try to support every odd config and choice people make...sad but true fact of the logistical nightmare that would be involved.

Honestly if I was the manager of the developers team, I'd give each one a playboy magazine and ask them to go jerk off in the bathroom everytime they got bored, instead of ******* up everyone's settings each and every ******* patch.

To solve this issue, go to the cache location you had before the patch, copy those folders and paste them into the new place. This is again something that is not officially supported and if you don't know what you are doing, then you should not do this.
Here is an excellent post: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=725279&page=1#2
Oh yeah? How about you stay the hell away from my system disk (C: drive). From deleting system files (boot.ini) to fragmenting my disk to **** with thousands of tiny gamelog files, i don't want EvE anywhere close to my system disk. The /end /lua:off switch was my only salvation forcing EvE to keep settings in the INSTALLATION DIRECTORY OF MY CHOOSING... but now, not only did you forget that settings used to be in \eve\cache\settings (and are using \eve\settings now), but you are still cluttering my system disk with thousands of tiny log files, despite the fact that i have logging to file checked off.
It wouldn't be a problem if EvE would use the disk properly. I have a number of other games which use the windows profile directory to store settings, but they DON'T FRAGMENT THE DISK! Neither are we required to clean those on regular basis. But with EvE, not only is it recommended by CCP themselves to clean the cache, but it's practically required to have any stable gameplay. And after all these writing and deleting from the disk of thousands of tiny files, the disk fragmentation looks like a freaking spaghetti drainer! == Above comments are my personal views Oveur >Local shouldn't be a tactical tool, it's for chat
