Today C4 had a large fleet battle with SA. Sa had succeeded to split up the C4 fleet in 2 by placing their fleet smack in the middle at the gate. The C4 fleet tried a bold move jumping in one half and warping in the other half of the fleet. This however didn't go well for the C4. C4 lost as far as is known atm about 5 to 6 bs's. Probably took out 1 in return.
Grats to the EV, Tyrell and Kipkruide for a good fight :p. You guys got us fair and square, but make no mistake. The C4 will be back with a vengeance. Thnx for a great fight though.

Well, we declared victory over CA today in their own channel. As we were sitting in VOL and HLW and no CA were to be found. Then they told us it was not their peak time, and that we should come back 6 hours later. Well, so we went back to stain for a while, and as said, we went back 6 hours later. What did we find? Ehm, some CA docked in stations, some CA frigates running around with MWD. But absolutely NO CA that wanted to defend Curse. So, since Curse is empty and no CA defends it, doesn't that mean SA have won the war against CA then, OC?

For the "challenged" in the crowd:
The C4 declared victory in the Esoteria Campaign since it drove all SA forces from the 2 contested regions. As far as what remains of SA, it is a skeleton of what it was and is basically a guerilla force in Stain proper. We have witnessed an increase in activity and are prepared for a new push by SA attempting to regain some of the lost ground and PR. We look forward to this as targets have become scarce over the last couple weeks and frankly we're bored.

I didn't expect it to be correct. Cause with such numbers, it's impossible to get all ship types correct, and hard to tell for sure that everyone died. But I've seen cargocans/pods from almost everyone in that list. Updated with your corrections.

We think it's boring to waste missiles from 100km range, in opposite to what most players seems to do.
When I check my logs, for example, Mangr0o was scrambled with a strenght of at least 7... (though I had to warp out there, since I had at least 6 CA shooting at me from about 5km range... )

Edited by: Reverend Necrona on 11/04/2004 02:59:20 Just had another good fight with SA. We took out a scorpian next to DSS earlier, we had to disenage and headed back to o5y. On route we caught wind of an SA force down in 4GQ. We decided to engage.
Upon arrival we engaged an enemy scorpion outside the station. He managed to dock and 4GQ went quiet. We went to the next system and awaited some reinforcements. Upon this short regroup Stain managed to regroup the forces in 4GQ.
The Stain fleet approached those in 2-IGP and jumped through with the C4 forces retreating to deadspace while their reinforcements arrived. 4 Battleships belonging to the C4 forces traped inside 2-IGP warped to the 4GQ and engaged 2 SA cruisers and 6 SA Batttleships. The C4 forces quickly retreated, the the intentions of simply wetting the apite of SA. The C4 forces waited in 9u6 (2 jumps away) and in Z2 - 1 system away. In total 7 C4 battleships were ready to engage. The 4 inside 2igp warped into the opposition (of still 6 SA bs's and 2 cruisers) and began engaging. The other forces that were split up made their move towards the battle.
One of the reinforcing ravens warped in close to the Enemy fleet (mis-communication) and was destroyed. I personally was into structure so warped out. Upon returning the tide began to turn the way of the C4. With the two cruisers removed from the sceene the frigates came in and targets were unable to warp out, this lead to our advantage with us taking one Scorpion into very little structure (Gothicwolf ?) he managed to warp out however (several of us saw him warp out) however the next target a scropion belonging to Enris (sp) was then taken out. The SA fleet was taking damage and had started to warp out, two other battleships (1 megathron i think) managed to just jump through.
It was an awesome event - at first it looked as if we were going to lose it for a momment, then after the Raven kill we came back, it lasted roughly 15-20 minutes. no smack talk throughout all the procedure and was argueably the most fun i've had in a while - most of the fleet fights only go one way, this had two sides to it.
No smack no *****ing, i even wrote a long post about it ;p

Fight in V-3 starts [ 2004.04.10 21:44:02 ] (notify) You have started trying to warp scramble the Battleship, "schadenfroh [VOTF]".
Last shot [ 2004.04.10 22:16:48 ] (combat) Your 425mm Carbide Railgun I barely misses King Dave [SNRA].
The remaining CA has warped to safespots, time to grab Xirtam's corpse, and a lot of cans [ 2004.04.10 22:19:19 ] (notify) The Biomass is too far away, you need to be within 1500 meters of it but are actually 1944 meters away.
Heading back to DSS [ 2004.04.10 22:40:40 ] (None) Jumping to Stargate (V-3YG7) in GE-8JV solarsystem
Timestamps in EVE time. GFL Torque counted his ammo, and concluded that the ammo he had spent meant he had fired a total of 12 1/2 minute in that time.

I don't understand this.
99% of the time this forum is full of CA saying "Ha! SA you got WTFPWNED, you nublars!" with SA denying it and the whole thing crumbling into flames and trolling.
SA do well in one battle and now CA are patting SA on the head going "Good little doggy, you did well today, here's a frickin' bone"?
What the **** is up with that?
Either act honourably all the time or not at all.

I think the real reason open comment from both sides is the fact that even tho we won the battle, CA did not run but tried to fight there way back into the driving seat, for whatever reason they didnt but regardless they did not give in and run until they knew the battle was lost, and to be fair many others would've thrown in the towel long before they did, kudos to all involved, I for one thoroughly enjoyed the fight, lost my scorp tho, tbh the loss of my scorp itself was less painfull then the timing of me losing it, last engagement b4 the battle ended.

Not really, Joshua. I can't remember the last time SA lost a fleet battle around Catch. We usually come out on top, and have killed LOADS of CA and Xetic battleships there the last weeks. But C4 has had success down in esoteria.
Our problem is that our enemies have much more numbers. Which means, when we win a battle 5-3, that means it's like an equal loss per member. Also means that CA has more members that can hold blockades in hed for example.
They usually act in a very honourable way when it's fleet battles. All the smacktalk comes when we can't field a fleet large enough, fast enough to engage them. I mean, sometimes we have 3 fleets around us, 1 CA, 1 C4, 1 Xetic. If we choose to go engage one of them and kick their ass, it still means the other 2 gets bored and gets into the smacktalk... example: (was it last weekend?) C4 had a big fleet inside stain. We didn't engage them. Instead we went to engage CA and Xetic fleets in DSS and catch. We scored 13+ battleship kills without loosing a single battleship in our fleet. Still meant C4 got bored and had nothing better to do than talk smack.

The reason when SA do well CA dont flame is because until recently (last month or so) it virtually never happened.
I have missed the 3 Big fleet battles with collective. Perhaps this is lucky since as far as I know we did badly in all 3. I can still say I have never lost a large fleet battle to SA (over 6BS a side). Ok its only because I have missed the recent ones but hey :P.
Ill see you in combat soon.
Btw a couple of the 'BS' losses on that list appear to be attributed to frig pilots :)

I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. I'm not sure if you've been given false information about our capabilities or that you aren't sure what guerilla warfare is. If it's the former, you may want to look at this screenshot of the fleet that was massed to contend a CA fleet in V-3 today. If it's the latter, fly with Omega Corp for a few days and I'm sure you'll understand what guerilla tactics are.
For those interested, the battle in V-3 came out pretty even, with SA coming out with just a couple more ship kills. CA took down a Raven, Apoc, another bship and frigate while SA took out a Tempest, 2 Apocs and a Megathron (at least those are the kills I have on Fraps). It was a lot of fun and I look forward to more fights in the future =)
As for our 'guerilla tactics', well CA was in V-3 at the gate to 3gd with drones out, but our fleet jumped in anyway (which is often how it goes down). Here's what we were greeted with.

Don't know how long you've been around but i'd say CA usually jumps in as we're the "more agressive". Anyways nice battle, we were outnumbered in the beginning and took out 2 battleships and lost 1 thanks to communication problems, we still went back for the second round even tho SA had gotten another 7 battleships in reinforments (they had 22 vs 19 in the beginning)... Nice fight tho...

If you look at the other screen, we actually had 24 battleships jumping through. All didn't get into the fight though. For example, I had the loading screen for well over a minute, then crashed. Many of our pilots still had loading screen when they de-cloaked. You guys had your drones out etc. You guys were grouped together, while we spawned all over the place, with some spawning as dead meat in the middle of your fleet.
If I were you, I would not be pleased with only 2 battleship kills there, I'd rather be totally ****ed about only getting 2 (and I was a bit mad about the "low" number of your ships we got to kill in engagements after the jump-in one). As for "CA usually jumping in", I seriously can't remember you guys jumping without having at least 5:3 numbers.
Good fight though. And I wish CCP would fix lag/dedicate more server resources to these systems.

Yes it was, and if you folks had the guts to jump into what we did you'd know it was lag too. But since that day will probably never come, I'll fraps the jump in next time so you can see why taking a full minute to enter space and another minute to load all the bracket colors would kind of hinder your fleet.

The lag has been awful for those jumping in recently - CCP needs to work on it, thats how OC lost 6 battleships the other night, and the other day we lost a raven as we warped in and jumped in on a camping fleet, lag has been an issue. Reverend Necrona |
