Hello! After adding t2 modules for mining. cycle time reduced. and thats great. BUT! The real imrovemet of mining will be not a t3 modules/mining carriers/and bla bla bla Improvement will be changes game mechanics with cargo container. What happend after jettison ? cargo container appears! but from where it gets so big (27500m3)? if gargo not so big ))))) What we need is ( and that really for all miners ) 1) after jettison cargo from bay the new cargo container must be open in new window ( this option need to be added in settings (who don`t need that can disable it )) Example: Often when u mine alone u just jettison container and need to open him manualy ( but if u not renamed other u drop befor it`s again return us to disorder 2)After jettison cargo container it must be renamed in ship name from what it was jettison ( and i realy think that this is very good! when u mine in gang 25+ people at one place) Somekind of electronic mark on container ( for Advanced with time of eject )))) ) Example: 25 hulk`s mine one giant Spodumain asteroid and all drop CC in overview Disorder as well ))) with automaticaly renamed containers according to name ship hauler can see what CC is belong to him and which are not 3) reduce time for compressing ICE Example: make 1 unit of Compressed arkanor need 1000 unit`s of arkanor and that 16000m3 make 1 unit of Compressed dark Glitter need 1 unit of Dark Glitter and that 1000m3 difference in time needed for equal volume ore/ice is 1:16 . Thats mean we need time to compress full rorqual cargo bay of ORE 6 minutes and for ICE this time will be 1 HOUR! and 40 Minutes!!!!!!!!!
P.S.: Eve Online it best game with endless possibilities to find youre self in this univers! Let`s make it more perfect |

1. ambivalent on this (jetcan mining is a pain). 2. see 1. 3. deal with it ... it also takes forever and a day to mine the ice. Just crush it while you're boosting the fleet... |

It's nice to see people throwing ideas out there (good and bad) to try and improve their EVE-O experience. Good job.
#1 - This is currently by design. Most of the time when you jettison an item, you don't want the container auto opening on you. In my opinion, this is fine as-is.
#2 - Nice idea! More thought needs to go into the implementation of this, but I would love to have jetcans auto-named to distinguish them from the other 10 people around me that are also jetting cans (this is not limited to mining folks). Maybe a set of options to toggle the name - e.g. "Your Name : Time", "Your Corp : Time", or something like that.
#3 - I agree that Ice mining & Ice compression need to be looked at in general. Just because mining ice takes forever, doesn't mean the compression should as well. Afterall, Ore compression doesn't.

I agree that smashing it while your boosting is a good idea, however, not every one micro-manages their Rorquals while boosting - and some people just like to store it all and smash it when they're ready to.

Please sir, you must train some basic skills before you are able to use the forums effectively. I recommend that you train the following skills as a minimum before posting in the forums; otherwise, you will continue to create poor posts that contain poor ideas, making you appear to be a person of poor intellect:
Forum Searching IV Advanced Forum Searching III
Spelling II Grammar III Diction III English IV
These skills will give you the certificate titled "Forum Poster Basic" and certifies: This certificate states that the pilot has a basic understanding of the English language and is capable of creating sentences free from obvious grammar and spelling mistakes. The pilot is also able to form sentences containing a subject and a verb, knows what those words mean, and is able to link those sentences in a logical pattern to form a complete thought. Finally, the pilot is also aware that intentionally misspelling words to save having to type more letters only succeeds in making the pilot appear to be completely without intellect or rational thought patterns." |

Jetcan mining is just a phase you pass through... get Orca. Store ore directly to corp hangars in space. What is this sorcery?

When ever you make changes to improve yields or cycle times, you drastically lower the cost of minerals. Miners repeatedly ask to be shot in the foot. |

Not necessarily.
If you can mine at twice the speed but the price drops by a 1/3rd then you're still getting ahead. Moreover, faster mining at lower over-all prices will benefit all of EVE, not just miners.
You're also forgetting something in your argument about the prices.... which is that ultimately, the price of the material depends to some extent on supply and demand but also on the willingness of the labour force to sell it's time for a given price.
In other words, there will always be a "bottom price" established for minerals based on the availability of other ways to make isk. If the price of a given mineral goes down too low, then people will do other things (just like people in RL will change jobs if they can make more money doing something else) and it will create a shortage which will raise prices.
If the price of a given mineral bottoms out because of theoretical over-supply (for example, what we saw in the Trit market when the price was un-pinned by CCP) then miners will simply go do something else for a while and the mineral prices will go up. You'll end up seeing cycles in the price instead of a steady downward/upward trend.
For various reasons, what I'm describing is exactly what's happening on the Trit market right now. Miners are mining less of it because they can make more isk doing other things and the price is going up. At some threshold more people will start to choose to go mining Trit again instead of doing other things and the price of Trit will drop. it's the first mineral where I would expect to see the price start to cycle because it's required in very large volumes, it's easy to find in high-sec and it's the one experiencing the most inflation.
Anyway, economics lesson is over.... the point here being that even with a vastly increased capacity for mining in EVE I wouldn't be worried about the prices of minerals in the big-picture. We'll just see cycles instead of trends.

Can't you focus on his idea instead ? You think that every person has to speak english perfectly ? I know that for people like You it's hard to understand, but english is nor a priority nor native language of every person living on this earth. Stop polluting posts from people that have some ideas on how to improve the game with nonsense and snobby attitude.
1 & 2) Drake I like Your idea about opening container automatically. Since it is actually hard if You have more containers in space already to even know which is the one You just jettisoned. Auto naming them would also be a nice feature like being able to set some default prefix for container. Possibily even possibility of some custom string formatting would be cool :) & Probably would be a good idea for salvaging as well. When You salvage containers pop up. why not have them open stacking manner.
3) Well perhaps ice compression time should be a bit lower but after all ice is easier to mine then ore.
