I've noticed that any attempt to Alt-Tab out of the Eve client has caused my computer to freeze - although on the Task Manager Eve reads as running normally. One attempt to end task on Eve closes it and things return to normal. Haven't undocked yet...

Same issue for me, now cannot Alt Tab between chars, Windows key will not drop to Desktop to manually select 2nd client, managed to get it working in windows mode but bits of graphics are missing until mouse-over. Either that or everything just hangs with bits of eve and bits of desktop on the screen, very annoying, everything working fine until last patch could run 3 clients and Alt Tab between eact without any problems.

have you tried reverting to classis graphics and alt tabbing then?

its the same on preimium or normal client, if u not freze u get whiteout in one of the cliens nonstop. :(((((((((((99

same problem, can't even kill process in task manager. have to reboot. running vista 32bit. Don't understand how something like this made it past their quality controls, unless they simply lack a proper quality control team.

Same problem here, i used to be able to run 5 clients at once, now when i alt tab i get no video but i can here my mouse scrolling over the buttons even though i cant see it.

yup same prob here, used to be able to run 2 clients at once now alt tabbing causes it to freeze but task manager says there both running.

Ugh, I am even getting the lock up when running in Windowed mode, as soon as I start the 2nd client the first one locks up.

I have the same thing too , i submitted a very angry bug reported but i spose its just not my computer then. I can alt tab around a few times and at one point one of of the cleitns will stop responding..you can make it respond again by hitting alt+enter to force it in/out of windowed mode..but all bits of text willg o missing then unitill you mouse over it and such.
I wish ccp all the luck in fixing this ASAP before i nukezor iceland..damn pengiuns.

ALT+TAB to desktop on Vista and I cannot get back to the EVE screen.
Task Manager shows EVE as running but all I see when I click on the tab is a tiny window in the top left on with minimise bars, but I get no mouse on screen to move to it.
Strangley if I ALT+ENTER when on the EVE tab I can change to windowed mode, but all the text is missing! ALT+ENTER again will take to full screen mode, again with no text showing unless I move my mose over where the text should be then it appears!

Same issue for me. Doesn't happen every time, but once it does, it will continue happening.

Yep happends to me to the only way i can stop the pc from freezing is to sign into the client again so it logs that alt in again.

ram 4gb
processor amd 64 4400 dual core
2x 7900 gt's in sli
Ive also noticed the client crash out to desktop saying eve client has encounted a problem and needs to close.
im glad i read this post as i was going to do a fresh install of windows.
CCP sort it out pls

I have the same problem, it doesn't always happen, but sometimes when I alt tab to Eve regardless of whether it's from a second eve client or from any other program, I get a frozen comp. until I close eve.

Happens to me every so often. Seems more likely to happen if Eve has been minimised for longer. Extremely annoying problem because it means I have to quit without seeing what's going on, if anyone is talking to me, etc. Game still responsive (ctrl+q works for example), just can't SEE anything.

i have the same problem, but alt tab doesn't freeze up all the time for me. alo, the alt-enter to change from windowed to full screen mode helps me too, but when eve comes back all the text are invisible unless i open/close each tab

Signed, serious Alt-tab problems when running two clients in classic mode. Having to run in windowed mode but the fps/lag is terrible causing frequent missed locks.

I've found what seems to be a passable workaround for this, and it involves EVEMon. In the EVEMon options, open the General tab, and tick the box titled "Relocate windowed EVE to fill a monitor" and it seems to help the situation.

***FIX for the issue***
Actually not a fix, a workaround. After a few seconds have passed and it's obvious that you should have already alt tabbed, press escape a few times, load and reload the escape menu, it will bring eve up. It's like EvE ignores the fact that it's supposed to be up front until you tell it to do something. After you do this once, it usually doesn't happen again with that client.

Was having the same problems, really was starting to drive me crazy, tried everything, ah, but went to the bottom bar and turned off every icon there I didn't need running, no more problems, don't ask me which one, not going to reboot to find out now that everything is working again (alt-tab). Thought I would pass this along.

There are many people where it works fine, I keep alt-tabbing and not crashing.
So, the issue may be specific to some hardware or some software you have in common.
Do this :
-Run the logserver
-Open eve
-alt tab to freeze it
-let it crash or force to close it (depends if it crashes totally for you or not)
-run dxdiag, save the dxdiag info (there's a button)
-Make a zip file with the logserver files and the dxdiag file
-Go there : https://bugs.eve-online.com/
-Make a report in proper english explaining what you are talking about and what you did (here, j'is about running the game and alt-tabbing)
With this, CCP may be able to find what's wrong for you while it works for many other people and they didn't have this on their test configurations.
