Downloaded patch, installed it.
It prompted me to reboot, I rebooted.
Now when I click on the EVE shortcut, it flickers briefly into view and then immediately closes.
I am running XP.

Edited by: Ulstan on 13/03/2008 23:19:20 Just a note: I never, ever, ever had this problem before installing the patch.
There are no error messages or anything. I look at the logs and all they say is:
------------------------------------------------------------ Gamelog Session started: 2008.03.13 22:49:02 ------------------------------------------------------------
and then blank.
Any ideas what the patch has done to screw my system up?

Edited by: Evolutius on 14/03/2008 02:31:58 About the best thing you can do is submit a bug report (on the left hand side of this screen). I would recommend attaching a DXdiag file to the report. To do this, go to start->run and in the field type dxdiag . When the dxdiag window opens click the button labeled "Save all information" and save it to a text file. Upload the text file on the bug reporting screen and it will give them detailed information about your computer settings and such. Then you have to wait for a response from CCP. It will likely be a while since so many people are suffering such a massive amount of different problems due to the deployment of this patch.
And you can always reinstall, that *might* work.

I also had got this problem on my Vista computer. After they patch was finished i got a lot of "file cannot validate" or something. After a reboot the client just flickers like your telling.
I guess i have to reinstall and do all settings and folders over again.

I'm noticing a trend: after every patch CCP releases, a full re-install has to be done.

At least try emptying out your eve cache before a full re-install. - - - -

Did you try to launch the client before you rebooted? Because this is something that would happen if you do.
To solve this issue you need to reinstall.

Yes i tried launching EVE after the patch finished with the "launch eve-online now" button as one would expect a user to do.

Same issue here û still have not been able to get this resolved despite trying the suggestions posted here and on other threads. IÆve filed a petition (through the web site), and received one reply on Friday morning asking for more information (dxdiag and log files) - nothing since.
IÆm very disappointed with both the poor quality control with this patch and the customer service. I would expect CCP to provide some kind of messaging (either through the forum or on player news section of the web site) to update their many paying customers who are still not able to log into the game.
