Edited by: Caia on 14/03/2008 13:45:07 As easy as it is to add 5 hours to my current time, I'd sorta like to see a game time clock somewhere at the homepage. C'mon, its like all of 10 minutes programming time, CCP. Adapt more, whine less. |

GMT... Greenwich mean time. You posted here, which means you could just as easily looked up an internet clock
If you have Vista, you can set up multiple clocks to display when you mouse over the one in the system tray. I've got the US western, eastern time and Seoul, Korea. ------------

Actually GMT does equal gametime, what does not equal game time is BST, since GMT does not get changed during the year for daylight savings time.
This means that half the year, those of you living on the British Isles, are equal to gametime and GMT, and the other half of the year your an hour ahead of both GMT and gametime.
Proof
Quote: Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is a term originally referring to mean solar time at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich in London. It is now often used to refer to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) when this is viewed as a time zone, although strictly UTC is an atomic time scale which only approximates GMT in the old sense. It is also used to refer to Universal Time (UT), which is the astronomical concept that directly replaced the original GMT. In the community of Greenwich, GMT (in the form of UTC) is the official time only during winter (during summer the time in Greenwich is British Summer Time rather than GMT).

Well done for stating the obvious...
GMT does not stand for Game Time, whether it's the same time or not. I spose if you want GMT to mean game time, then go for it.

I never said that the acronym G.M.T stands for "Game Time". Your intial statement in this thread could have been taken one of two ways depending on the reader, so I clarified it for future readers.
What I have stated, is that GMT is the exact same time as ingame time, which is also refered to as Universal Time(UTC). --

That is true, one always assumes the author of any post is stupid (generally because a lot of people are), so don't read the post in correct tone/context.
It's a bit like driving, always assume that nobody else can drive. Then you can't go wrong, except for annoying the good drivers, by taking too many precautions. What the hell am I talking about?
