Yea.. just curious, whats the deal with the Stabbabond? All of the vagabonds I have fought recently are all equipped with warp stabs, and this makes me sad.

Out of curiousity, how did you find out that they all have stabs? This might explain why they are doing so.

The only really good thing about that ship is that you can run away most of the time. This is why people fly it really because the can engage without risking their ship to a full extent all the time.
So going from there it would only be reasonable to fit a stab to further enhance these options. Of course the targeting range penalty and especially the scan resolution penalty really detract from the ships (limited) potential. Not to mention your epeen is cut in half every time you get caught in such a setup. And lets be realistic - those who fit warp core stabs are exactly the pilots who are probably caught the most.
Another possibility would be that some people have found the ship to be a good ratting vessel or at least one that is less likely to die!?

Never seen one, and never known anybody flying a stabbed vaga. Vagas r fast enough if u want to get away (most of the times).

stabbed vagas? 4 x stab drakes? what's up with the forums today? :D
stabs are like fitting mods. sure you can shoehorn one onto a ship if you want, but it's at the expense of all sorts of other more useful goodies.
if you want to run away, surely a bit more nano will do the same thing and help out in non-running-away scenarios? boot it towards a planet and pick off the frigates chasing you at low transversal or something.

Back when I got my first vagabond, everyone put stabs on it. 3 dmg mods, 2 wcs. It was fast enough, so there was no point fitting nanos, and it gave you the "if you screw up, you live" factor. But the same worked even better for ECM ravens and the like :P
That said, vagabond already has pretty horrible locking range. Fitting any WCS to it makes it really kinda "meh". Something like 2x signal amps + wcs + 2x gyro II in low would work though. You could mess around with more things, but you would be slower, deal less damage, and die horribly still if you get properly tackled.
If you have experience flying fast gunships (not speedtanking ships, as those are just orbit and spam), then stabs are a waste of time. If you are just starting out, you will still die terribly, because you will screw up terribly. 1 wcs is useful in very, very few situations.

The deal is: They suck and are noobs for fitting stabs on a vaga. -------------------------------------- [Video]Skirmish Warfare |

True enough. I had them webbed and defiantly warp disrupted. First time, I was like, wtf? Was my modules bugged? 2nd time, and I'm kinda like, gdmit.

Pretty much sums up my post. Wasn't always considered that way ;)
You still won't kill them with a single warp disruptor though. Noobs or not. That's why there is so much hate about the vagabond though, back when you weren't playing yet, it was quite invincible in the right hands, due to 2-3 stabs fitted + going fast.
No huginns, no nanoships (no rigs), no dictors - only way to kill one was jam it, and put a stiletto on it.
