hmm how do i put this...
Dampeners are WAY over powered...
they not only reduce the range more on the victum more than thier counterpart.
Second, FoF missiles (which are the ONLY true defence jamming) are so affected by this module that they will not fire.
A suggestion to do is to change both the Dampeners and FoF missiles.
1) Change the Dampeners to coincide with thier counterparts stats.. to that basicly one of each cancel each other out.
2) Change the FoF missiles to where they are not based off the Ship Launching them range.. but based off the range form the attacking target based on the flight time.. *granted this is probably a big change over what it is currently to luanch a FoF missile.. but Defenders seem to launch this way, so you could probably use the way defenders launch formula on the FoF missiles with some mild changes.
Unless this is done.. everyone will just use dampeners and that will effectively make a complete missile system utterly useless.
As i perceive it.. FoF missiles are anti-drone and anti-jammer ship defense.
Am I wrong on this subject?

Dampeners are now considered an agressive act, and as such the FOF missiles should attack the dampener. Also, before the dampeners were not an agressive act, they would still attack if any agressive module would be activated (like a turret or missile bay).
So the dampeners won't make FOF:s not work.

yesterday..

You are both right.
FOF still work against dampers, however, only if you are within your new damp affected range.
ie if u get damped to a 5k range, u need to be inside 5k for the fof to work.
Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

FoF are useless then - why the hell do you have to get into your (reduced) targetting range to fire them?
You may aswell just use your standard missiles.

Something is very much amiss with the fofs and damps. Im not so sure about the range thing mentioned by prophetguru cos I have had a raven with four damps on it fire at me from 100km with fof cruises. but at the same time I have had a scorp with two damps on it not able to fire from 20km for some reason. So not entirely sure how it works but pretty sure its not workin very well.

I think this is by design - FoFs are described as "auto-targetting", ie they do the targetting for you, but it still has to be within your range.
However I'd agree that even so it kinda sucks, and it would be better if they used either the undamped range or just some fixed radius which is a parameter of the missile rather than the ship that fired it.

uhm.. i did some testign on this what .. 5 days ago.. and this was how it went.. i damped a BB with 2 dampeners and apporached them to 0 meters whiel dampen them.. thier FoF missiels NEVER shot off...
and i believe FoF missiles should be able to auto target ( but you have to click the launch button) to the flight time range of the missile... not your new damped range..

its not like you are dampening the fof missile eh?
in my opinion you should be able to launch a fof missile in all situations... unlucky you if the missile has no target

well...
I'd say it launches, but it's not armed. So, it won't cause you to get podded because you just whacked a FOF into a gate, but you DID just waste a missile.
