I made a new character today and added it to Evemon, however, I haven't been able to get the portrait to show.
Update from the web - has no effect Update from eve cache:
No portraits of your character were found in the folder.
Ensure you have used the right folder (i.e c:/program files/CCP/EVE/) Ensure you have logged on to eve using this folder
I have checked the folder and it is the portrait one, I don't know why this is happening.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Could you explain what you mean by this? And do you have a source for this information? I don't understand why EveMon would be unable to add the portrait either from the web or the eve cache.
Thanks,

There's a server or part of a server which is run by CCP which holds all the portraits of all the characters for web use (anything other than the game itself), and it takes time for new portraits to be rendered and put up. As you can see, mine hasn't been rendered yet and it makes my rather lovely new sig slightly pants.

Indeed I can't get killboards to show my portrait neither can I see it on forums and I can't get EVEMON to get it. _______________________________________________________________________________

Oh, by the way, if you're doing it from a local folder, did you remember to capture your character's portrait from the game?
Right click on his/her ship > Pilot Info > Capture Portrait.
This should save the portrait to your local folder automatically and Evemon should find it.

It appears that the path to the portrait cache changed. Looking at the folder dates on my system, I think the 1.1 patch moved the cache to a new folder (Premium client, Windows Vista). Look for a folder here: AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\Pictures\Portraits
In Vista this path is rooted under your user folder in your Desktop, or under C:\Users\[your_username]. On XP this will be rooted slightly differently, possibly under C:\Documents and Settings\[your_username].
What's new is the folder c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility in the path.
EveMon is still looking in the old default place for portrait cache, so you need to point it to the new portrait cache folder. Right click on the portrait (or the ! image) and select Set Portrait Folder and put the new path into the box that is presented. Then right click on the portrait again and select Update Portrait from Eve Cache.
This worked for me in Vista.

Yes you're right, I'm just going to write this out for clarity for myself. For Windows XP users - the new portrait folder is located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Application Data\CCP\Eve\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\Pictures\Portraits
Rather than:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Application Data\CCP\EVE\Cache\Pictures\Portraits
Although the old folder does exist and still has old portraits in it.
As someone else said, you may need to capture your portrait first.
I changed the folder to the new folder above and then right clicked on 'update from eve cache' and it worked.
