So I was taking an interest into these new implants, and was surprised to see that they are not traded in Jita at all. When I went to check out the Thukker LP store, surprise turned into dismay as it became clear WHY they are not traded. They freaking cost more than 4 times as much as the pirate low-grades, which is actually more than the pirate high grades too. I fail to see the logic here, if anything these things are weaker than the pirate ones (well, except the sucky halos) and I was expecting them to be same cost or even cheaper. What gives? Is this intentional for some unfathomable reason, or did someone screw up like they did with LP store tag requirements before?

I guess the logic is that the pirate ones are in lower security space, almost(?) always.
That lower sec missions give far more LPs is aparently not deemed to be enough of a balancing factor.

The pirate ones are given in 0.0 NPC Regions such as Venal, Fountain, Delve, Stain, and Curse(I think). Not lowsec. The empires control lowsec.

Thukker is in Minmatar Empire Space and Great Wildlands, true. But even in empire Thukker agents give out the pirate-faction mission types - which means a lot of missions against the minmatar empire and the gallente federation. Combine that with less-than-stellar agent (location / quality) and there simply aren't a lot of Thukker LP that end up on the market.
This is not limited to their implants. Thukker shield extender - t2 with fewer signature radius, very expensive for their benefit over t2. Thukker PDS - the other faction PDS are simply better (same stats, less CPU). Thukker MAPC - the only good piece of faction equipment in the Thukker shop, not cheap put simply the best MAPC out there. Even of those I've only seen one that I didn't sell myself in contracts since their introduction. LG Nomads - haven't seen any being sold so far, not even in "for-collectors-use-only" amounts. They need a lot of LP for LG sets, but so do the other new pirate sets from the small pirate factions.

Welcom to another useless part of EVE. The LP store where it takes so many unretrievable items to get something, it is totally worthless... CCP seriously needs to check out the LP store to make it usefull.

Welcome to reading comprehension 1.
There is no item in the Thukker store that need an "unretrievable" item to get something. The implants you need for the Nomad implants are available at the LP store too, the faction modules need no tags, only the basic tech 1 module.

Consider this a vote for having these looked at...I totally get that they are in empire, and are supposedly safer, but even so, the amount of time and ISK invested to get a whole set is more than a bit off compared to the other low grade sets. Heck they cost more than some high grade sets, and there isn't even an option for high grades!?

not really, besides titan pilots, this set is also useful for blockade runner pilots (align time == chance to get through or not) if you shell out the money for this set, you can get to align times of about 1.8 sec

Deprived of the win button would normally = never getting a chance for an uber mod that someone else got
In this case, I, for one, am asking for the devs to look at the cost of these implants compared to the other pirate implant sets.

I am afraid that if they really do it, the cost for the others will go UP, not the Nomads down... Maybe I should never have started this thread

The dev's aren't exactly responsible for setting the price of anything (other than trit, trade goods, and moon probes). It has to do with how much you are willing to pay a player to grind those missions and how useful something is (which leads to its demand). "Consumable" or one time use items (implants) inherently have a higher demand than things that can be traded between people and the items don't get lost to getting blown up often. |

Uhm, in the case of LP items, CCP are VERY responsible, since they set the amount of LP needed, the other item requirements, and in the case of these implants, a not insignificant amount of ISK as well...

Go to your favorite local thukker station and click the icon that says loyalty points. It will be next to those other icons for things like fitting, reprocessing, etc.

Its sad that these implants cost so much. I wanted a scan strength set badly, but im not willing to blow more then a high-grade snake set for it, just ridiculous

The whole point is incredibly irrelevant.
All implant sets require equivalent amounts of LPs. The fact that Snakes are more demanded made people to grind for them, thus providing the supply. Their market is more dynamic, prices are lower.
The rest of implants are not as demanded, so less people get them from LP shops, and if they do they put skyhigh prices on them, knowing there's no competition.
Why CCP should change anything? Its open market mechanics, its balanced and its right. You want those implant THAT bad - well, get in contact with people who run missions for those pirates, put WTB contracts, post on forums, whatnot.
This has nothing to do with CCP.

Just to put things in perspective: LG Edge Omega: 332,175 LP 25,075,000 ISK -26.94% reduction to booster side effects LG Nomad Omega: 332,175 LP 225,075,000 ISK -26.94% agility bonus LG Snake Omega: 95,875 LP 95,075,000 ISK 33.83% velocity and smuggling chance bonus HG Snake Omega: 347,125 LP 347,125,000 ISK 53.63% velocity and smuggling chance bonus
Simple question: Does this look fair? You could make the argument that the nomads are a godsend to a dedicated freighter pilot, but how much demand is there?

We are just trying to determine the demand, see the auction. If it does not sell in two weeks a good argument can be made that the new pirate implants are overpriced.

Sorry for the necro post, but we have our answer. The complete set sold for 2.2B.
This is about 2367 ISK/LP. A bit too low to justify running for a pirate faction with a limited selection of L4 agents, IMHO.
If CCP would lower the costs of the set by, say, 30% I would consider running for Thukker again.

This has nothing to do with CCP.
In fact this has everything to do with CCP. If you had actually bothered to read any posts in this thread rather than just the title, you might even have realized it. The fact of the matter is that all implants do NOT require equivalent amounts of LP and other goodies. And it is the ridiculously high amount of LP and ISK required to acquire the nomads in the first place that is the issue here, not whatever price is asked for them on any markets (not that there are any markets for them...)
So please, read posts, not just topics, before making yourself look like an idiot.

And just to put things into REAL perspective, since your numbers are wrong, and using Espilon as base since many people won't use the Omega anyway: (totals are estimated using 2000 isk/LP, 5 mil for +2 and 10 mil for +3 implant:)
LG Nomad Epsilon: 170,100 LP, 113,400,000 isk, +2 cha plant, total 458,600,000 LG Snake Epsilon: 45,000 LP, 45,000,000 isk, +2 cha plant, total 140.000,000 HG Snake Epsilon: 141,750 LP, 141,750,000 isk, +3 cha plant, total 435,250,000
